Is it possible for one man to do so much damage??

Even a paranoid and arrogant coward?

This man may not be personally responsible but since he has been President of this country, our country has been attacked by terrorists, knocking down the World Trade Center and putting a big hole into our Pentagon Building. These were the symbols of American capitalism and militarism around the world.

After that disaster, he decided to invade a sovereign country and to send prisoners that were captured in the invasion, to other countries to be tortured. This practice of rendition led to dishonor and lack of credibility around the world. In the process, we lost over 4200 American lives and caused millions of people to flee their country. In the violence that ensued, hundreds of thousands of people were killed.

Not only that, he brought a philosophy into the White House which prevented him from ever raising taxes to pay for anything, even a war that went on for almost 6 years. He ran up our national debt to over $10 trillion dollars and fought any regulations that might hinder his business friends. In the end, we were plunged into a worldwide recession and perhaps, a long depression. Millions of jobs were lost and the economic system collapsed under the weight of its own freedom.

But is it fair to blame it on only one man? No, probably not. But it is fair to give him the lion's share of the blame. He can run but he cannot hide. His legacy is hot on his tail.

1. A friend said those same words the ohther day
It is amazing the damage that one man can do.

Actually, it is the whole cabal. Bush would not have been president without Karl Rove.

Rove and Cheney are the most evil, with Bush supporting and encouraging them.

Somebody had to tell the morons who to vote for; they sure as hell can't make that decision for themselves.

Oh and let's not forget the ultimate responsibility lies with the SCOTUS.

5. We err when we let the GOP off and obsess over GWB
The GOP on the Hill backed him to the hilt and often suggested
to GWB moves to make.

7. It wasn't his fault.
Everything was done before he arrived as president. Only some stuff happened during he arrived as president.

Oy vey.

9. AND be totally oblivious to the fact?
That's the part that bothers me so much. I was watching clips of the interviews on Daily Show and thinking this guy is just like the drunk who climbs out of the crash completely unaware that a tree is in the middle of his car.

He is so much of a fuckup he doesn't even understand he is a fuckup.

10. No, it wasn't just him...I remember when I was 42 (58 now, incredibly - !) - anyway,
it wasn't until that age that a realization struck me about Hitler: "he didn't do it ALONE" - it was just one of those eye-opening moments one never forgets, you know? Thousands, millions of others helped him commit one unspeakable atrocity after another...

Same deal here. This arrogant punk had plenty of help committing his atrocities, aiding his lawlessness, destroying lives, etc etc. He ultimately holds the bag, but yeah - he didn't do it alone.

11. I never again want to hear it said that it doesn't matter whose President
I used to hear that all the time back through the years. I knew better then and I damn sure know better now. I've seen it with my own eyes and heard the bullshit with my own ears.

13. He is and has been a willing (and eager) sock puppet for the robber barons and privateers.
He's willfully oblivious to corruption and predation, due to his pathological narcissism. Cheney, the sociopath, has orchestrated eight years of pillage and scorched-earth economics -- enriching himself and his cronies.

had the country's best interest at heart...they only wanted to profit. He is an idiot and he let his buddies get "paid" by fucking the rest of us over.

16. It is the fundemental flaw in this life in contemporary society:
one person can do far more damage than they could ever hope to repair, so people get screwed, there is no justice or accountability, and the innocent have to pick up the slack and make up for what a few destructive folks have done.

17. George Bush has fucked up everything he's ever done.
His entire life's history is one failure after another. Everything the man touches literally turns to shit.

He's arrogant, incurious, stupid, and impatient. He has a long time serious drinking problem, and likely a prescription and/or illegal drug abuse problem as well.

He has expected someone else to clean up his messes from the first time he shit a diaper.

The man is just doing what he's always done, only this time the people hurt by his actions include the vast majority of the American people.

Honestly, if the man can walk into a restaurant or store or event without being booed out of the place from now until the day he dies, it will surprise me.
