I must say, I'm not the hating kind; but, like everyone, I've got a line that must NEVER be crossed. This asshole not only crossed it, he LIVES it.

1. Hatred as an emotion evolved explicitly to help us cope with people like W.

Yes, I fucking hate him. Not just dislike, not just disagree with, or am annoyed with. Hatred - the real deal.

Only the little ones do not see it. When he tries to rewrite history it will not work because we will teach our children the truth.

116. There was a monent on election night when Reagan got elected the first time
I wish I could rememeber what network it was on, but when the race was called, they cut to some location where there was a cake baked in the shape of the US. They were trying to hold it up for the camera to get a better shot and as they did, it cracked in half - right down the Mississippi River! I remember thinking at the time, 'if this isn't the most prophetic moment in history, I don't know what is!' Reagan broke the country and * finished smashing it into little tiny bits.

228. Ray-Gun was a sellout hypocrite from the beginning.
A little foible in his past should have rendered him unable to serve as governor--but J Edgar Hoover helped him cover it up cuz the FBI didn't like Berkeley's Free Speech movement nor Gov. Pat Brown (Jerry's father) handling of those 'radical students'.

Anyway, once again Repugs cheated, got their boy in, and he fucked everything up. He started homelessness in California and took the act national in 1980.

Read: The Campus Files if you're interested in Reagan history. The reporter supoena'd the info for 17 years and fought the FBI for it. Here's the link to SF Chron's articles that the MSM never talks about!

Edited on Sat Dec-06-08 10:21 PM by NBachers
bumper sticker on my car. I always figured Nixon was the nadir of political garbage. He's my icon of hatred. But along comes Bush and makes Nixon look like a paragon of reason.

There is a place within himself that Bush has walled off. It is a place where the screams of children burning to death echo into eternity. A place where the grief and pain of the dead, and their loved ones, burns away sanity like acid. A place where souls have worked and labored for decades and had it all siphoned away. How many lifetimes of sweat and toil have these monsters stolen? A place where a dying planet and a drowned city and a looted nation slam into each other.

Before he leaves this earth, those screams, those cries, those oceans of sweat will inundate him. He'll fall into an LSD crescendo of pulverizing oblivion. And after his unmourned demise, the demon fiends he's nurtured will spend eternity pecking, tearing, and rending his soul with Hieronymous Bosch-type fervor. With glee and gloating. The torture he has inflicted will be visited upon him through the infinite black night.

Amen

"There is a place within himself that Bush has walled off." It is not walled off - it simply does not exist. If it was walled off you could cause chinks or holes in it. If it existed, it would mean that Bush is not a psychopath.

75. Exactly. We have hatred for a reason.
Edited on Sat Dec-06-08 02:15 AM by backscatter712
People call hatred a bad feeling - something we shouldn't harbor. Bullshit. Hatred is an emotion, which evolved into us over millions of years along with the rest of our palette of emotions. Emotions are not good or evil in themselves. That comes from how we use them.

Here's the thing. Hatred can be used for good. Hatred can be productive. Hatred can be one hell of a motivator. Think of hatred as an early-warning system, and a key we use to turn off internal psychological safety switches we all have that prevent us from hurting others.

Hatred helps us deal with people who will hurt us. The emotion keys us up so we're ready and driven to fight them, and it flips off our internal safeties, like unlocking the safety on a gun, so we can pull the trigger and do what we have to do.

We do have to pick the correct target. Don't hate based on skin-color - that's destructive and idiotic. Pick your target wisely. Bush, as well as Cheney and their cronies, are directly responsible for hurting and killing millions of people. They have very long and distinctive patterns of psychopathic behavior resulting in literal deaths on the battlefield, destruction of people's livelihoods and health, dismemberment of entire industries, of entire cultures, of entire regions. His harm is incalculable. For me, it's also personal - in that he directly contributed to an economic clusterfuck that's left me unemployed, uninsured, and having difficulty paying my bills. Of course I hate him.

It's OK to hate him. It's what we've evolved to do. Bush's actions, and those of his cronies, have earned their way into the category of Those It Is OK to Hate. Give in to your anger. Let the hate FLOW through you.

Hatred can make us powerful. It motivated me to contribute hundreds of dollars to Obama's campaign, to spend countless hours volunteering, just so we can finally rally the strength to break the backs and crush the spirits of those sons-of-bitches. Of course, Obama's positive message of change and rebuilding our nation also had something to do with my motivation...

I'm all about the Dark Side of the Force. Let's use all the tools in the toolbox, I say.

113. Well said.
I have this weird thing that happens when I get really, really angry: my jaw tightens and I cry. Before Bush, that happened maybe once a year. Over the last eight years it has been a regular happenstance.

My fundie brother says I voted for Obama out of hatred for Bush. He chose to ignore my response wherein I told him that I despise Bush's actions but pity him as a person, although it's become increasingly difficult to hold such sentiments with any degree of sincerity.

6. and every time in the future some media trollop tries to publish a whitewash
about Bush they need to be shot down, ridiculed, and mocked until it hurts.

People let a lot of shit slide about Nixon -- this asshole and his *legacy* should be covered in rotten fruit, horse shit and anything else throwable until the day he dies - and about 75 years after.

The only word that should stick to Bush is INFAMY.

I cannot stand the way he walks with his chest puffed out.

I cannot stand the way he waves when boarding his plane/helicopter.

He has never lost it.

He is the biggest piece of shite to have lived in the WH. Bar none.

Another reason I despise him : I read shortly after his Grand Theft Election in 2000, that a former professor recalled that Bush had shockingly laughed out loud in class at the misfortune of the Joads in 'The Grapes Of Wrath'.

He has no soul.

trying to imitate Reagan's macho walk. Once the camera panned over to the area near the waiting helicopter where Bush was waving and there was nobody there. What a phony display! Now he is using daughter, Barbara, as a prop, like Chelsea walking with Bill and Hillary to the waiting helicopter, during Bill's impeachment crisis.

And I'm not proud of that. I wish he would shut his yap because I just want to do some damage every time he says he has no regrets about committing war crimes. It's bad enough we had to live through his atrocity of a preznitzy, but to hear him brag about it is going to make me crazed. I have this urge to rub his nose in the shit he created and say, 'BAD PREZNIT!!! LOOK WHAT YOU DID!' But that's not taking into account that dogs have more of a conscience and sense of shame than Mr. Bunnypants.

I've said for years, 'Bush' is going to replace 'Fuck' as the most vulgar word. 10 years from now, little kids will have their mouths washed out with soap for uttering that obscenity.

227. While it is pointless to try and compare murderers....
Rather like saying which is worse the KKK or the Nazis, nevertheless we will grant LBJ the following over Bush:

1) LBJ didn't invade a Vietnam for not better reason than his own glory. GW had no reason at all to invade Iraq; he used 9/11 as an excuse to do so, wanting just to have a war, maybe get his hands on their oil, and give out contracts to his buddies. The U.S. was already involved with Vietnam when LBJ took office and his big sin was to get us more involved still...

2) LBJ did regret and feel visible anguish over Vietnam, and knew it was a terrible mistake, even if that anguish was more because of what the war was doing to him and his reputation then what it was doing to the country. Georgie there only seems to regret that he got one "Mission Accomplished" moment before the party was over and people didn't like the war any more. I don't think he's ever regretted or not liked the war, realized it was a mistake or thought that he'd ruined the U.S. by it. He's only regretted not having more parades in his honor for it.

3) LBJ did set in motion a lot of a good--great even programs that gave us civil rights and the rest. GW took all that good stuff away and made the country hellish.

4) LBJ won, unequivocally, and then, when things went horribly wrong, left office. George stole an election, made things go horribly wrong, and then rigged and pirated another election so that he could make things go horribly wrong for yet another 4 years! (IMHO, this puts LBJ in the "acceptable" seat and Bush in the "No fucking way!" seat. If you can't see that you're bad for the country and leave, then you're a rotten president).

5) Ignoring all other polices--hard to do with Bush, but let's do so for a moment--Bush knew all about climate change and our need for really good environmental policies not only to help us, but to help the world. Yet he took away environmental policies that were in place--is doing more of that in his last lame duck hours--denied climate change no matter what the scientists told him, made others deny it, and put into place polices that helped it along rather than trying to make things better. In short, he's helped to put the whole planet in trouble. I think, if we're going to make it a contest, that kinda wins. The whole planet will suffer thanks to Bush.

Once again, however, this is a silly argument and comparison. Bad is bad whenever you are and however you are. That the KKK has killed less people than Nazis doesn't make them good. But I don't think the argument that Bush was a piker compared to LBJ holds water. Bush has 8 years of doing everything wrong. And smiling proudly while he did it.

LBJ did so much good for so many people and that legacy was still going until W. I hate W, and he deserves to be tried at the Hague and hanged, when found guilty, just like he did to Saddam. 98. There was Vietnam, but there was also the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
There were the Great Society programs, and a recognition of environmental issues. None of these balance out the loss of life in Vietnam, but I think they distinguish LBJ from the evil that is Bush. There is nothing to show that Bush has any compassion, any empathy for anyone who isn't wealthy. He has shown over and over that his friends can do whatever they choose, no matter the consequences.

I lived through LBJ, then disliked Nixon, and hated Reagan, and now despise Bush. Thank god Obama won, since I'm not sure I want to know what level there is below what I feel for Bush.

221. I think the difference between LBJ
and GWB is that Bushitler seems to (I'd say does) take great pleasure in f**king over everyone but the ultra rich as badly as he can. His patronizing and cocky attitude is a reminder that he really buys into a classic feudalistic aristocratic mindset that the have-nots are somehow sub-human and deserve to suffer. His 1984 style double-speak and that nasty "just try to stop me - HA, HA, HA" attitude reminds people that he isn't doing this cause he doesn't understand - he knows perfectly well what he's doing and he thinks we deserve it - and he enjoys inflicting pain. I think he would happily return to a feudalistic system or a plantation system because I think he thinks it is OK to "own" people and that he deserves to be an owner not someone who is owned. His attitude towards habeas corpus and other human rights adds another nail to the coffin.

While I wasn't old enough to remember LBJ, I've never gotten the impression that he was quite as brazen a psychopathic, cocky, arrogant, elitist, bully as GWB is. I think LBJ might have lost is tiny bit of sleep over what he did. What Bush has done actually HELPS him sleep at night.

Among the numerous lies he told was one where he said something to the effect of "as I have said many times before that Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with 9/11". Watch the video. Right after he says it he gives a little smirk--that good old-fashioned I'm-lying-and-you-know-I'm-lying-but-you-can't-do-shit-about-it smirk.

There is not enough disgrace in the world that could be brought down upon him and his family to offset the horrors he has visited upon humankind.

And he brought Poppy Bush into this world. Who in turn brought Chimpy, Jeb, Neil, and Marvin into this world. And he created Dick Nixon's political career.

I'd say hatred of Prescott Bush is well justified.

50. Isn't that what Prescott did - he taught his sons and grandsons and
all of the male heirs to hate FDR and the strides made - he taught them that the everyone but his upper class needed to do for themselves and pull themselves up by their own boot straps and the government shouldn't help them, it was there only for the corporations and the wealthy who understood and deserved "good government"?

My life is too short and my health too important to carry around that level of hate and to teach it to others, especially the young people in my life.

That man has taken a great deal from this nation, I make my heart black - I won't give him that - my soul and emotional well being mean so much more than that.

..for so long now.. I have been looking for a way to express my hatred of * .....

Ordinary hatred won't do. What mere words can describe a man who has destroyed the world?

Sometimes you grab at words, you try to post emoticons and little barf symbols in an attempt to express yourself. But nothing seems to work? You can never explain the amount of hatred toward this slimy little man... who manipulated religion and politics in his favor so that he and his friends could get rich.

There will be a special place in hell for this man... I can only hope...

69. The only problem with that is it's like taking poison & expecting the other to die.
I would advise to focus on the things he has DONE and HOW he has done them and WHY he has done them. THOSE things are intolerable no matter WHO does them, no matter how much we LIKE someone and I think it keeps us more vigilant for spotting someone whose behavior needs to be dealt with IMMEDIATELY without having to have the "hate him" or "feel sorry for him" argument.

He is no longer WORTH the value of actually caring enough about him to hate him in my opinion.

I used allow myself to listen to the crap that comes out of his mouth. It made me crazy. Even when he said things I would applaud from anyone else, knowing it was a sheer lie for a photo op made me want to scratch his words out of my mind.

Then I decided I wouldn't waste the piss to put him out if he was on fire on my street, my block, in front of my house. I did feel bad about that, so I decided, I might piss on him in that instance, even though I would regret the kindness later.

I think we have the right to hold him accountable for all his actions, but for me it isn't anything personal anymore. It's just the right thing to do when people break the law. Book em, jail em, sentence em, fry em. He's a bad little bubba and he needs to pay for his crimes, but you know there is something like 2 sandwiches short of a pic-i-nick basket going on with him.

nominated, probably instinctively, and I have found no repite in 8 years for my dislike of this monumental "moran." I resent that one so evil and unintelligent cheated my man, Al Gore, the ultimate patrician statesman ane environmentalist, out of the office he so clearly deserved and then lied about Kerry, the true war hero, in order to perpetrate his war crimes and officious policies. Never before (and I am not young...my first vote was for JFK) have I continued to daily despise any president. Usually I have just gone on with my life, occasionally complainiong, whoever won the election. This time was different, and I knew it to the very depth of my soul. And unfortunately for the planet EARTH, THE POOR EVERYWHERE, THE ANIMALS, THE IRAQIS, and the unending list of etcs., I was right.

A bullying liar who has hidden behind Daddy's money all his life. A coward who drank his way out of Viet Nam, and gleefully sends others off to die in an equally pointless war. A sham of a man who deserves ignominy and shame as his legacy.

i generally reside in the same emotional area as you in regards to this man.

I would add that I try to be consistent and "hate" every single one of his enablers, the-politicians and the people, -r's, and -d's. it's the same feeling: you stupidass motherfucker's, would you get the fuck out of the way of the reasonable people's attempts to live well and sustain peace, justice, and prosperity. you are the reason one-person, one-vote is a bad idea. either you have horrendously bad ideas, or you wouldn't know one if you saw one, and are hypnotizable by the people who have them. a true danger to the world.

bush et al (it's a very big group, including nancy pelosi) MUST be impeached and/or prosecuted, not because i "hate" him, but for the good of the nation and the world. bush must never happen again. if you're not on board with that, we are not on the same team. in other word: i "hate" you.

Edited on Sat Dec-06-08 10:06 AM by Boxerfan
Don't get me wrong-were very happy as a family and all. But they are learning a lesson that took me a long awakening to achieve.

I was happilly benign in my voting. Thinking I could judge a personalitty & voted on both sides of the fence-Nevermore!

One of my key realizations was thanks to my Mom just before she passed. The latest Bush elections were about to happen & I told her I was thinking of voting Nader. "Your throwing your vote away" she said. After a while I learned that trite phrase was all too true. The partisan style of politics & the very nature of the 2 party system makes it a "My Team Vs Thier team" thing. When tactics are used to consolidate voting blocks on partisan issues there is no choice but to build a better team & fight it.

But I dislike the vicious cycle nature of all this.

Frankly I blame Rusty Limpballs & his evil spawn for all this. I grew up fishing & hunting with Die hard redkneck Republicans. I kinda like a straightforwad attitude.

But I was always a liberal thanks to my Mom-When my fishing buddy started listening to Rush I tolerated many arguments & held my own. Sport as it were. But the debates got less about reality & more about low minded issues designed to divide the ranks. It took years for me to see it for what it is. Fox was just the last proof there were enough weak minds in America to drown out sensible debate.

My girls have a head start in that regard but frankly I'd like to get back to a real debate-well chewed. Over a fishing line or long roadtrip with friends-not enemies.

We have to make damn sure that the Bush family name is forever synonymous with terms like treasonous, sadistic, greedy; and war criminal!! We have to assure that no member of that insidious family is ever elected to office again...ANY OFFICE!! Unfortunately there is no time to waste as you can rest assured that before long we are going to be dealing with JEB and his son George P. Bush. Those two are the next threats to this country and need to have their legs cut out from underneath them immediately. One way or another that family has to pay for what they have done to this country. The whole damn family!

While the others were just plan evil, relishing the deaths at their hands, poor Georgy is hapless, clueless, and idiot. Don't get me wrong, he is still responsible for the horrible deaths of hundreds of thousands and more, and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Georgy is the poster child for the arrogant, spoiled, worthless, of the inherited rich. He is the reason Tommy Jefferson was in favor of the inheritance tax. Without the inheritance tax, stupid rich kids inherit tremendous power and reek destruction. Georgy is a great example.

it ALL stops on that ignorant Toad, Psychophant's Desk Top. As Truman said: "The Buck Stops Here" and that's with Bush as President. He had veto power and used all his resources. He's going to go out there and raise money for his "Democracy Institute." He needs to be hunted like PINOCHET! His underlings need to follow...but, in the end, the "BUCK" stopped with that ignorant ASSHOLE and HE IS TO BLAME FOR IT ALL!

140. I just spent eight long years
despising that man, and I gotta say, it took a whole lot out of me.

a LOT.

I mean, to the point where it probably damaged my health and well being. That's how much I hated him.

I have nothing left now.

which doesn't mean he's OK peachy dandy in my book, because he isn't. Each time I see him on TV I still say (out loud) "Fuck off, asshole"...but it's more along the lines of "In xx more days you will be a NOBODY in this country."

If my grandkids want to know about him, I'll tell them that he did evil, stupid things because he was a sick, immature, stupid man looking for power and doing questionable favors for his "buddies".

My only hope is that fifty...a hundred...years from now, History will not water down his bloody legacy and make him look like a better "leader" than he was. He should go down in history as the miserable failure he was.

But for me...I think I'm done with the hate. He isn't even worth it anymore.

He is, forever more, worth less than a worm out in my garden.

If I am still alive when they put that piece of filth in the ground, I will borrow a dog if I have to, roll up in a wheelchair if I have to, and get the dog to piss on his grave.

178. I'm not going to waste my time hating the ass, but I can't blame those who feel they must.
I am reminded of some lines from Toni Morrison's novel Sula:

"Knowing that she would hate him long and well filled her with pleasant anticipation, like when you know you are going to fall in love with someone and you wait for the happy signs. Hating (him), she could get on with it, and have the safety, the thrill, the consistency of that hatred as long as she wanted or needed it to define and strengthen her or protect her from routine vulnerabilities."

In a way, I think it is comforting for some people to hate him. It's a consistent, reliable thing to cling to in a world in which little else seems reliable. Other things may change, but the many reasons to hate him will never go away.

184. I always though LBJ,
got us into Viet Nam with no idea about how big the losses would be. I often think he wanted an "easy" victory over communism so that he could get his Great Society programs through. LBJ committed the mortal sin of trying to use a war to unite a country. He also made the terrible miscalculation of an enemie's fighting capability. The North Vietnamese and Viet Cong would take heavy losses and keep fighting. Johnson was a deeply flawed man that still had some vision and depth. Bush seems like a vacant Slobo to me. Slobo tried to make the Serbs be over Slovakians, Croats, Albanians, and Bosnians no matter what the cost. He destroyed Yugoslavia. Bush tried to turn the US into a ditto-pig-boy hegemony no matter what the cost as well. Fortunately for the US the pattern of political violence wasn't as strong. He cared only for the radical GOP and nothing else. His vision was a nation of "benevolent" rich running the country like it was a plantation. Great Society versus a plantation. Bush's Iraq war was still fundamentally a crony enrichment scheme like the 700 billion swindle they pulled on Nancy and Harry. He's not the dumb one. Americans are, for tolerating him in the highest office for one year, much less eight. I am more numb than hateful than Americans couldn't see through this simple asshole. Even Oliver Stone doesn't get this full time political operative.

185. Bush is a waste of skin
I try not to hate anyone but after 8 yrs of Bush I have to say that I hate the man. He is without a doubt the WORST President in American history. He has literally ruined this country. He has been wrong on every issue and every decision he has ever made has been the wrong one!
I can't stand his cockiness and that idiotic smirk he always has on his face.
Every time he speaks on TV I can feel my blood pressure going up because I know he is going to babble nonsense and say something really stupid. (He never disappoints me in that regard.) When he speaks he reminds me a drunken hillbilly and I cringe as he slaughters the English language. What an embarrassment he is!
And the fact that he gets away with EVERYTHING drives me even more crazy! For the past 8 yrs the Democrats have been spineless wimps who have done nothing to stop Bush's destruction of America. (Because of the Democrats wimpyness I because a registered Green.) If there were any justice in this world our Idiot-in-Chief would be behind bars! But I know that Bush will never get his day in court.
And finally I have to say that it takes everything in me to not go nuts when I hear someone praise Bush. (You know, one of those moronic 25% who still think that Bush is doing a good job.) I want to shake them by the collar and scream,
"Have you been awake these past 8 yrs??? Or are you just brain dead???" Ugh!
Ok I feel better now that I have vented.

188. I'm beyond hate
I want this man (and his conspirators) sent to The Hague for war crimes and executed.
World leaders need to know there are consequences to their actions.

This lesson doesn't stop as children become adults. All throughout your life you have to answer for the choices you have made. To reap the rewards or the rubbish. The good and the bad you receive from each decision you made.

What the people in this administration have done is an affront to humanity and if there is no reprimand, no need to answer back, then it only encourages others to follow his example.

They taught Louis XVI, Marie Antoinette and that Russian Czar Nicolas II fairly or unfairly about the power of The People.
This is why you never see any accountability for these types of people's actions. If you can wreck entire infrastructures and ruin lives only to get useless gripes with shaking fists in the air, you have no deterrent to behave any other way.

I have LONG been sick of just being angry at the man, I want action.
In 2009, I want the Bush Administration investigated for war crimes, unmasked for the criminals they are, sent to The Hague and executed for their crimes against humanity.

Nothing less will do. If you're gonna hate, put the hate in action.
John Lucas

192. hating is too harsh and not worth the effort. Hate is what we see now with these racists assholes
What you need to teach your kids & grandkids is how to rise about what this man and his supporters have done. Funnel that hate into something positive. Bush should be the 'anti-role model' meaning - here's what you should strive to NOT be.

Hate is such a random thing without solid explanation but ends up doing way more harm that good. There are people out there that hate Obama for the sole explanation that 'Obama is an N-word'. Hell we probably started this war in Iraq because Bush was taught to hate Saddam Hussein. And although Hussein was a bad person, what he had done did not justify us sending our children to die and killing thousands of Iraqi civilians.

Don't teach your children to hate. Teach your children to rise above the stupidity of this man and the stupidity of hate. Teach them to live a life that might help undo the damage that he has done. And teach them that when they see someone like him doing wrong that they must not be afraid to stand up and say "This is Wrong".

When you remove hate from your heart you can do so many wonderful things in this world.

193. I spent the years 2004-2008 hating George Bush

He is a die hard conservative ideologue (though even many conservatives disown him ), and unrepentant about it, as shown by his recent executive orders and sabotaging of the civil service. We'll spend 50-100 years trying to recover from him, if we ever succeed. Not only us, but Iraq for his invasion, and the whole world that has been the victim of the economy he and his cronies wrecked.

What can you say about a guy who spent eight years failing and meanwhile doing super-human damage to the whole world as he failed? When he wasn't a fool, he was guided by ideology, and put shysters and idiots in charge to tell him the right lies, destroy the government, and let's not forget, profit.

After all of it, I find now that I can't hate Bush anymore. He shouldn't have been allowed within a hundred miles of Washington. Fact is, you could always find a fool, but a sane country would never seriously nominate one, much less re-elect him when he had already been demonstrated an abject failure.

The Republican party is sick. Its spokesmen such as Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Michelle Malkin and Ann Coulter have shown us for years. Their dominant faction, so-called conservatives (what are they conserving?), are politically degenerate. They demonstrated it again this campaign with Sara Palin. They combine 1) a loathing of the very government established under the Constitution 2) A freedom for economic criminals to a maximum return on their criminality 3) an embrace aristocratic powers for the wealthy, and 4) a form of Christianity that sets itself against freedom and rights. Its cultural influence has contaminated and debased the rest of our politics. Their pinnacle of freedom is the Mariana Island slave-state, so praised as a "laboratory of liberty" by Tom Delay, who should be sentenced to work in one of its sweat-shops to enjoy his liberty.

The Republicans lost credibility after 1929, and de-regulated capitalism hadn't been an issue till 1964. Now that de-regulated capitalism has been tried again and has brought us to a precipice, causing even a conservative like George Bush to resort to nationalizing and socializing the economy, you would think they would look at this catastrophe (or I still hope, near-catastrophe) and would see how it failed and reconsider its ideology. No, they don't. They somehow blame Clinton, blame all the social programs that were adopted since 1933, and blame the liberals who called Bush abusive names. I'm afraid to say, unlike in 1929, Republicans have not completely lost credibility yet. No, and they have more of an active propaganda apparatus to preserve the faith even when staring their economic atrocity right in the face. No, we will have to defeat the Republicans, and defeat them, and defeat them, until conservatism is back in the fringes where it belongs.

My nightmare is: I don't think George Bush is going to slink off and disappear after his Presidency. No, unfortunately, I think he's going to spend years speaking out about how the Democrats are messing things up, and probably making speeches about it for $30,000. Why? Because Republicans can't afford to let his reputation sink. Conservatism, and the GOP's fortunes sink if he does. Just like "the controversies" with Global Warming and Creationism have shown, you could keep an argument from being closed forever. Expect Operation Rehabilitate Dubya (ORD) to be visible on the radar by 2011. The Republican Propaganda machine will let memories fade and then pump people's minds up with memories about what a wonderful President George W. Bush really was, and how those liberals thwarted him at every turn and now sully his reputation, and even deepened the Depression Bush had under control.

For the first Great Depression, the free-marketers didn't have a mass media. Don't count on Great Depression II alone to remind people how bad Bush's presidency was. Brush up on the Bush years, don't forget all the details, and always, always remind people.

Here when I started writing I thought was only going to say only that I didn't hate President Bush any longer. I touched on that didn't I?

BUSH CO. gives us more reasons to hate him/them every single damn day.

Just from this week alone he has
1. Killed laws that prevents mining 100ft near streams. Poisoned streams...check.
2. Signed or killed laws to allow medical staff to not help patients in the event the procedure goes against their moral grounds. Screwed up hospitals and pharmacies...check.
3. Tried to rewrite history and failed...check.
4. Tried to get KKKarl Rove to rewrite history...check.
5. Left the Texas Coast a mess after Hurricane Ike. FEMA fails again...check.
6. Sent the economy into a nosedive to recession. Fiddling and buying houses in other folks' names so he can hide in Suburban Dallas while the global economy burns and thousands kill themselves...check.

Some posters have said it will take a decade for the next president to clean up the mess of the Bush Admin. I think they're being optimistic. Realistically, it may take 4 decades in some sectors and in other areas (Global Climate Change) we may already be too late.

204. Hate is as strong an attachment as love
This I know. It means he is as much in control of your own life as if you adored him. Your body is stressed, your time is consumed, your world revolves in great measure around him, and it literally closes down your ability to really live in the wider, and far more wonderful, world.

Imo, and as a result of a lot of professional training, hate comes from feeling HELPLESS and abused, and in Bush's case he's done every bit of what you who hate him say he has. But you're not helpless. You can turn those feelings into good work in the world, into erasing, in whatever small or great way you can, Bush's horrible legacy. You can draw strength from your feelings and pass them down, and inspire others to work to help the earth, the people, the ideals he's battered almost--ALMOST--to death.

I haven't been on DU for long, and I am tremendously impressed with the intelligence I find here. But this isn't good for any of us because it has nowhere to go, no end result that will undo what Bush has done, and a lot of what he's done is to inspire the hatred that sure sounds like it's consuming some folks.

You don't have to love him, or hate him. But you might do well to erase as many traces of him from this very weary world as possible. And don't get fooled again. Our lives, and the lives of our children, are worth far more than that.

207. We used to joke about our teachers chiding us
that our misdeeds would go indellibly on our permanent record. Every detention, every fuck-up, and no one really cared. Now all this woeful shit that chimpy's strung together over these last 8 miserable years is going to be super glued to his permanent record so that everyone for all time can see and know the depth and breadth of his crimes and heinous policies along with the dick, and rummy's and the rest of these villainous sacks of shit. Good luck with that chimpy.

212. Save some hate for the 58M of US that voted for him....
He might have stolen some votes, but he got many more of them open and legal from the so-called Good Americans.

213. he doesn't need a 2 million dollar house either.
he needs a prison cell, if this man and his neo con friends are not held accountable for all they have done to this country, we will always have their stain of crimes on us.

215. Put that hate energy into doing something about it like
getting the guy impeached, tried or sent to the Hague. It isn't about revenge but justice for all the deaths, pain and needless suffering he has caused to the world. We also need to unbury all the secrets and expose all the lies from Poppy Bush on down to him and brother Jebby. Once the corruption of the Bush family is put out there for all the world to see, may there never be another Bush allowed into the political scene for several generations.

216. The prisons are full of people like Bush
But the thing that really scares me is that millions of people voted for this man, twice!

Those are the people I hate. The people who allowed this to happen to the world. I hate the people that WANTED him in charge of this country! A man who should be living in a dump somewhere, making his groggy way to the local shit hole bar every night. A man who'd be at home in the company of fellow morans who would laugh at his stupid jokes and who would pick him up off the ground after he's started yet another drunken brawl and gotten his just desserts.

His approval ratings are at historic lows, yet he is the same as he was in 2000 and 2004. We could see it but they couldn't till he'd driven this country into the ground..then laughed it off like it was a prank.

I feel very uneasy being surrounded by millions of idiots.

222. You won't have to teach your grandkids all of that.
They'll teach each other songs about how bad he sucked. You can scare them with tales of the Cheneyman, who comes in the night for dishonest, corrupt children, and makes them Halliburton executives.

225. I just want him to go away expeditiously. But I do agree . . .
Ray-Gun, Pappy Bush, w* and Tricky Dick are all evil personified.

The thing that gets me is that not one pundit has called Shrub* out on his total lack of competency and criminality, as the days of his nearly decade long reign of terror come to an end. He's a liar who keeps lying to the bitter end yet no one will publicly speak the truth about him or to him.

This is a guy who has yet to succeed at anything - professionally and privately he's failed in every aspect, but no one with a bully pulpit has the guts to call him on it, not even pie-back democrats.

:eyes:

Look at his eyes - ain't nothing going on behind them. They're as dead as a doornail.
