Thank You John McCain!

Sure, I know you’re loath to admit it, and we all know it was probably inevitable anyway, but you did help. Come on, take a bow – you did all you could to get Obama elected. And, please forgive the lateness of this letter, but it took some time to piece it together. The country only saw one candidate, not two… and that took some doing on your part. Plus, going exclusively after the twenty percent of the country still dumb enough to like Bush – why that was just pure genius on your part. You had the bigot and dumbass vote sewn up, and yet you never even tried to pick up a moderate. I mean, now that I can see what you’ve done, I really respect your efforts. (Truth be told, your discovery of Joe The Plumber and making him the focus of your campaign did much more for Obama than my phone calls. A Republican who’s been on welfare, twice! Great find. And you didn’t even need to work for the hypocrite vote.)
So thanks John, for not leaving anything to chance, the country owes you one.
Oh, and lest I forget, we’ll owe you one in four or eight years when Palin runs.
Just like you to think ahead.

1. One quibble..
Edited on Sat Dec-06-08 06:21 PM by SoCalDem
He DIDN'T have the "bigot and dumbass vote sown up".. Many of them were prepared to "sit this one out".

Because he did not have them sewn up, he HAD to constantly woo them and "prove" his worth to them..

He painted himself into a corner, and could NOT choose a moderate becaue THEY thought HE was a moderate

and in the end, he GAVE away his campaign to Mrs Moose:)

2. True enough.
But this was supposed to be a little funny. I usually go for satire, like this:

Or I write more serious pieces. This just came to mind, so I wrote it.

4. Some of the things he did and said during the campaign at times
honestly seemed to me either he or his campaign team was sabotauging his chances. He really was so out of whack with the real issues it seemed more like a comedy series at times, that impression only shot down when he couldn't quite control his anger at occasionally actually having to explain his or Princess Sarah's views on them. He took it waaaaaaaaay too casually, imo. It really does make one wonder how badly he wanted it. Appointing Palin though was the worst thing he did ..... he knew how ignorant she was on the things people were worried sick about (or should have) and did it anyway. Dumb!!!! jmo.

5. Clicked the REC button for the ending
He not only gave us Palin, but she turned out to be the gift that keeps giving.

Whether or not she finds traction in 2012, she'll sure make them look bad. Again.
