Depression you say? CHEER UP! Try a 'mimosa' cocktail.
A little color therapy...and that's a good thing.

Feeling Blue? Yellow is the New Black
By The Associated Press

NEW YORK (AP) _ Enough gloom and doom: There's a prediction from a leading color source that cheerful and sunny yellow will be the influential color of 2009.

Pantone, which provides color standards to design industries, specifically cites "mimosa," a vibrant shade of yellow illustrated by the flowers of some mimosa trees as well as the brunch-favorite cocktail, as its top shade of the new year. In general, Pantone expects the public to embrace many tones of optimistic yellow.

"I think it's just the most wonderful symbolic color of the future," says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. "It's invariably connected to warmth, sunshine and cheer — all the good things we're in dire need of right now."

3. Not a chance.
We want things that don't need to be washed or dry cleaned so often because we can't afford that. Sunshiny colors are great if that's your mood, but it isn't going to be our mood for the next five to ten years.

I'd bet on blues and greens to calm the stress.

15. There was a year here when it rained for 8 months of the year.

Maybe 91 or 92? Flooding was terrible and it was DARK. It all started getting to us so we put yellow everywhere, including the new puppy. Clothes, table cloths, curtains, rugs. Anything to get some light going. It worked to a degree.

But doing the laundry was a pain.

I can still remember the yellow puppy and the two cats looking woefully out of the back door at the damn dark rain

25. I love yellow!
When I was a kid, my dad let me choose the colour of my walls in our house. I chose: bright yellow.

My favourite vehicle right now (not that I'd ever get to own one or drive it) - a yellow Jeep Wrangler type vehicle.

When did I make this colour pick? Late 80's... right before we lost the house. New home had walls repainted... yellow.

Mark.
