will the media help whitewash the bu$h* legacy?
Media tout Bush's purported candor in ABC interview, ignoring substantial evidence to the contrary

Summary: Several media outlets touted President Bush's purported candor during an ABC interview with Charles Gibson in which Bush said the "biggest regret" of his presidency was the "intelligence failure" regarding the absence of WMD in Iraq and declined to "speculate" whether the administration would have invaded Iraq if the intelligence had shown no WMD. But none of these reports noted the substantial evidence that Bush had already decided to invade Iraq regardless of the available intelligence, or mentioned the substantial uncertainty about the evidence the administration cited in support of the war.

1. They will TRY. It is up to us to stop them.
Media Matters is a great site. The Daily Show is already all over these stupid "exit interviews".

5. To come back of course. Reagan didn't turn into St. Ronnie until
way after his union busting South American intervening ass was out of office and vegitating under Nancy's loving care.

6. Because they backed Bush in his lies in the first place.
They helped spread the propaganda that got us into the war. They spread the propaganda that allowed Bush to take office in the first place. They don't know yet that the game is over. They figure we need a few years of Democratic rule to take the heat off the Republican pigs and the results of their misrule, and then they can blame the disasters on Obama and run Newt & Palin in for 8 more years.

4. They Already Have
They've never put this slimebag under the microscope...but played PR for this shitstain until they just couldn't carry the water any longer.

I'm waiting for a real examination about the run-up to the Iraq disaster or an investigation into politicizing the Justice Department or sanctioning the wiretapping of American citizens or condoning torture or cheerleading an economy many knew was overheated and rife with corruption. They have a ton of blood on their hands. Any "rehabilitation" should begin at home.

8. That's Not Their Purpose...It's To Sell, Sell, Sell...
You're not gonna get those big Chevy ad buys if you investigate how they've stonewalled developments of alternative energy cars. Or the Capitol Ones if you question the predatory lending practices or how Wall Street is picking our pockets clean. We are only "consumers"...either we buy what they're pushing or not...the only obligation they have is to themselves and who pays their salaries and bills.

The corporate media will try to "rehabiliate" this regime just enough to avoid their own role in letting the last 8 years of crime and corrupt run rampant. They've long been morally bankrupt and now the fool-hardy policies of the repugnicans is starting to really bite into their bottom line. May they all stink and sink.

Thank goodness for the blogosphere...

Cheers...

10. Only to the point where they just sound so ridiculous that it doesn't work.

When the public turns off that blather, thus taking away advertising dollars, then then media will reduce it's whitewash program of the travesty of the past eight years.
