1. Rev. Wright ads were airing for several days prior to the election. They didn't work.
Nobody gave a shit by then, unless they just needed an excuse to not vote for him. After the economy melted down, people would have voted for a Bill Ayers-Jeremiah Wright ticket if they thought there was a chance they could get us out of this mess.

2. the problem is that by then, people had already figured out that obama was black.

3. Yes, and at least it helped counteract the "Obama is a Muslim" meme a bit
A few people told me they weren't voting for Obama because he was a Muslim, and then complained about Rev. Wright, and I'd say, "Now, do you think he's a Muslim, or do you know he goes to a Christian Church with a Christian minister?"

The two biggest reasons the GOP gave to not vote for Obama were:

1. He's black
2. He's Islamic

6. The attacking principle was the problem; don't they get it?

7. Boy, if only McCain had been able to flip 4.25 million votes
McCain would have had him then, boy! And Rev. Wright coulda done it, if only McCain had been more ruthless and the Republicans a little less squeamish about injecting racism into the election.

Christ on a cracker.
