Presidential video game to hit retail shelves
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - President-elect Barack Obama faces many difficult tasks when he enters the White House, and now people who want to face similar challenges can give the U.S. presidency a try, too, in a video game.

Game maker Eversim will start selling "Commander in Chief" on January 20, when Obama is sworn in as president, the company said on Monday.

"Commander in Chief" is played on a three-dimensional world map, and contestants must pick a cabinet then tackle problems ranging from terrorism to economic woes.

The game is also available in several countries around the world, including Spain where it is called "Yo Presidente."

What a great belated x-mas present for those who can't handle Obama's cabinet picks.

1. What a bullshit headline. It's just Geo-Political Simulator, and you can be the head of ANY country.

And it's available NOW. They just rebranded it for genius Americans who'll believe any piece of marketing you put in front of them.

Link to Wikipedia article with basic facts.

EDIT: Damn the DU site software that can't parse wiki links.

2. Apparently it's a 2 year old French game that this company just translated.
Sounded gimmicky from the story.

3. It's gimicky, but all on the "journalists'" side. The company had decided on the name...
at least back in April, maybe even further back:
