Wow, Jon Stewart just manhandled Huckabee and the anti-gay marriage goons
"There is far more choice involved in religion than there is in being gay." ASS KICKING.

2. I wish Stewart had mentioned that the definition of "citizen" has changed throughout the history of
the nation. Definitions are changed all the time.

6. As crazy conservative as Huckabee is, you've got to hand it to him.
He's a good man.

What a weird combination of things. To be funny, seemingly kind, and yet totally wrong about sexuality.

Hey, Jon's doing the world a lot of good. That was a very very interesting interview. And it was done with kindness and friendship. Very rare.

8. Don't be fooled. He is a professional huckster, a con artist.
Passing as being honest and honorable is an essential skill for those in that kind of business.

They rely on a fake persona to mask their true goals, and the best of them actually believe it on one level of their consciousness, and he is an expert, but he is neither decent nor honorable. He is gaming you.

11. He is a theocrat who wants to replace the Constitution with biblical law
and has connections with some of the same fundamentalist end timer groups as Palin has. Palin is the pitbull with lipstick. Huckabee is the wolf in sheep's clothing.

18. This is why I love this forum!! Thanks for keeping me real.
I'm just posting this here instead of in all six replies.

I'm the one who is too kind.

And by the way, I realize that what we saw in that interview was Jon being deadly serious. He is subtle. He doesn't "O'Reilly".

16. Sorry but no one who wants to deny people civil rights is a "good man"
:puke:

Or how about when he held up money for Tornado victims for weeks because he was having a fit about the use of "act of god"? Is that a good man?

He is a despicable human being who just happens to have an affable demeanor.

12. I got tears in my eyes - Stewart was wonderful
Edited on Wed Dec-10-08 10:16 AM by Patiod
I have no personal investment in the issue at all - I'm straight and not particularly pro-marriage (16 years with the same guy, and no rings)

Yet Jon really moved me. His questions were so heartfelt and sincere, and his challenges pretty much indefensible.

He laid it right out there - unlike other topics, where there are two valid sides to the issue, there is no valid argument against gay marriange, and (and here's what the reliously insane are really fighting) full acceptance of gay people as 100% members of society, and not just some peripheral group that we can pretend to ignore.
