Bush Administration’s Home Stretch Strategy: Not Our Problem
By Matthew DeLong 12/11/08 3:58 PM

A reader over at TPM flags a very revealing quote from an anonymous Bush administration official in a New York Times article about the state of the government’s response to the foreclosure crisis.

In the meantime, homeowners are unlikely to see any new policy unveiled soon.

“It’s become clear that if you stick your head up, it’ll get cut off,” said one White House official. “We’re done in two months. The next administration can try to find a way out of that maze.” {Emphasis added.}

Awesome. It only confirms what was painfully obvious to anyone who has been paying attention, but I guess it’s nice they’re at least letting us know they don’t intend to do their jobs and the nation will effectively have no leadership until Jan. 20.

On the bright side, President George W. Bush really only has one month, nine days — not two months — left in office.

1. I knew they were going to do this. That is one reason the fake "bailouts" worry me so much.
I hope they are not trying to just provide a band aid so that this all collapses on Obama. That would be horrible.

2. It's not like...
... we've had any leadership for the past 8 years, why start now?

3. How perfectly Republicon
Commander AWOL & his cronies have taken responsibility for none of their many massive failures. That has become one of thier signature deficiencies -- a slap in the face to the America they have so abused.
