I can't take Huffington Post seriously.
Every time I click on a link to Huffington Post I see side bar stories and headlines about celebrity news and gossip. That kind of crap is why I don't watch TV news. How am I supposed to take Huff Post seriously as a source of news and opinion when they fill their site with the same corporate media celebrity trash I'm trying to get away from?

I don't bookmark it. I don't read it regularly. I don't intend to. It completely destroys their credibility with me. Isn't there enough of that celebrity/entertainment fluff around without Huffington Post pushing it too?

3. And there are lots of people who are NOT serious news junkies
who love it. I am interested in hard and soft news and I love that they cover both.

6. They have some excellent commentary and very up-to-date news. No complaints
from me. And Arianna was one of my favorite commentators during the election runup--she and Katrina Vanden Heuvel.

The sidebars are eye candy for those of us who don't want ALL BLEAK ALL THE TIME.

I guess it's a matter of taste.

For me it's DU, HuffPo, Wonkette, Firedoglake, Kos, Digby. No wonder my wife says I have become a slave to the internets. And then there's Rachel Maddow on the tube. Tonight she had excellent coverage of the Southern Republicans who are stopping the Big 3 loans. She had an interesting question: Why are the Democrats not forcing the Republicans to filibuster that bill? The ringleaders are all from states with foreign car companies.

But, I digress.

Before I left months ago they seemed to be really into censoring/deleting posts for little or no reason.

Didn't care for the format either.

Quite a few wingnuts there as well spewing rubbish and trying to get attention.

11. I guess you don't read or watch any news at all...
if your main criteria is a lack of anything you find silly or irrelevant.

(Me, I stopped buying the New York times because they have sports section I don't read)

12. Online and my local paper.
The corporate press is mostly a waste of time and gives people a distorted view of the world.
