"If there is no agreement that can be reached .. we have danced this tune long enough," (Reid) said.

BussFlash.Com just put this up with the above quote from Reid above.

Is this guy being cagey or is he taking a dive? That's a legitimate question.

The GM creep, Wagoner wouldn't even promise to buy American at the "same or increased levels" at the Senate hearing. He could have cared less about the bailout. Bankruptcy is just fine for him.

Inquiring minds want to know?

1. Bitch-slapped!
Reid's been in the Beltway too long to not know what is happening when he says things like that.

If you ask me, I'd say he took a dive, and did so in a way engineered to make him look like a jellyfish.

Any politician worth his salt knows that when you really do want something to pass, or to reverse the trend of defeat, you do not allow yourself to be bitch-slapped - you go down fighting. You don't say what Reid said, you tongue-lash the Republicans for being obstructionists, call their character into question for refusing to stand for working folks, etc. etc. etc. Give them a black eye as you get voted down - that way, people still respect you.

Reid knows this, but plays the role of Kif Kroker anyways. He's doing this intentionally.

Reid's role in the Senate has been like Alan Colmes' role in Hannity and Colmes - that of professional punching bag. Colmes would not be collecting that FAUX Noise paycheck if he actually fought back against Hannity - Roger Ailes would toss him on his ass in a heartbeat! He's paid to be FAUX's house liberal, and to take a dive looking like a sniveling wuss every evening, so the audience sees all liberals as a target of contempt.

The truth is that Reid has about the same loyalty towards the Democrats and progressive causes as Joe Lieberman. His method of sabotaging us is just more subtle...
