Just wait till all those NASCAR fans find out you helped
kill their sport?

No big 3 = no NASCAR and no Talladega Stock Car Races.

4. They might feel just fine about it... if it's built in the plant in Alabama
by good Christians.

6. Kia's and Hyundai's screaming around the high banks. Yep, they
will love watching that on Sunday afternoons.

2. I think they are sincere in their belief that
if the big 3 file for bankruptcy, they will re-organize (now code for kill the unions) and stay in business.

What they fail to understand is that in order to file for Chap 11, they have to find someone willing to underwrite their debt while it's being discharged in bankruptcy court. There isn't a bank in the world right now willing to do that.

If GM, for example, now files for bankruptcy, reorganization probably isn't an option. Not to mention that most cars sold by GM dealerships are sold using GMAC financing... which will no longer exist. Plus, as an added bonus, almost no customer will buy vehicles from a car company in bankruptcy... cars are long term usage items... you would be a fool to buy one if you had any thought that 5 years from now, you couldn't possibly get parts or service.

OTOH, given that Nissan and Toyota are their masters, perhaps they do know all this and just pretend that they are trying to bust the unions... the real goal might well be to eliminate competition.
