The numbers say it all. $700 billlion + for financial institution bail out
and a big fat 0 for auto manufacturers. And the amount that was proposed was all of 14 billion.

Union busting is the only explanation.

2. I still don't see why there has to be a separate auto bailout.
It should be taken out of the original 700 billion. The banks aren't using the money the way it was intended, so it might as well be given to companies that keep Americans employed.

5. It would have been nice to have preconditions set on the $700B
It makes complete sense for the auto makers to get their loan from the banks right now. So far, the only pressure I've seen put on a bank to use their bailout money wisely was when the employees in Chicago staged a sit-in.

8. The whole bank bailout has been obscene. Instead of lending money,
which would keep Detroit humming if cars could be financed, they're using the money for "bonuses." Until now, who the heck ever got a bonus for tanking a company? The 700 billion really pisses me off. They got it with no strings attached and they're using it to extend their cushy lifestyles awhile longer.

3. What happens now?
Yes on a $700 billion free-for-all and no on a $14 billion loan...I just don't get it.

What happens now? Will the Big 3 start slashing jobs? Will things change when Obama takes over? I have to say, I'm pretty shocked about this.

12. Their attitude is
screw the unions. Get rid of them and the rich call the shots---and soon we'll say good by to OSHA, minimum wage, 40 hour week, etc, etc. They want to go back several centuries to the lords of the manor and the serfs. How bad does it have to get before we have a revolution? Or do you think the people in this nation would rather be slaves to the richest 1%?
