3. The TARP funds have not been given yet. The WH announcement
may be nothing more than an attempt by the Plunge Protection Team to keep the dire predictions of a crash today from coming to pass.

4. The Ford opening is just plain nuts
and shows most investors are idiots.

Ford has said their bottom line and cash reserves are healthy enough that they don't need a bailout, that their overseas division plus their truck division are enough to keep them together.

I might have to go shopping later today if it falls and stays down.

5. Suppliers go down it hurts them. I've gone shopping with them already

they are only down about 7% now.

If Bush comes through, there is going to be very nice money made on both GM and Ford. Both short term and long term.

6. Ford is the one I own already
and I'm expecting it to be the phoenix that arises from the ashes of the latest GOP depression.

You're right, of course, but Ford is the more likely of the two to be a money maker long term, IMO.

8. I've been selling covered calls on my F position
Edited on Fri Dec-12-08 10:07 AM by nocaster
on up days. It's been like free money so far. I plan on holding F for the long haul so I don't mind writing calls against it. I've even sold Jan 09 LEAPS that aren't likely to expire in the money.
