Oh how those little orphans would cry when the caustic acids used to treat the frame would eat into their flesh

32. Factory tours are suckers
Why should you pay a corporation to subject yourself to an ad for their product?

I went on the Boeing tour and they didn't even give out free samples.

:wtf:

They gave me a pen that lights up with some special fluid inside.

TSA confiscated it when I was on my way back from Seattle.

8. I drive an old 1995 camry with peeling paint and dents.
I get about 28-30mpg in the city, while it's more like 33-35mpg on interstates. It's not that I'm anti-labor. I'm a freaking socialist. It's just that I am too poor to afford anything else.

49. 1990 Camry that I hope will run forever. The Tercel almost did, but had to be put down at 24 y.o.
We went Honda Accord to replace the Tercel.

Dammit, the management of the Big 3 in the US has been making bad decisions for a long, long time. :-(

I'm going to use the Volvo today. It has a better heater. It was 0 degrees when I got up this morning.

I recently spent what I paid for the Volvo putting a new fuel pump in the Jimmy. Hmm...

Transmission started slipping at 18,000-fixed

broke again at 22,000- totally went out-replaced

started slipping again at like 33-35,000

Good thing it was a three year lease

30. If you actually learn to drive, manual is the only way to go
I haven't bought an auto trans since '77. That Chevette handled well and was fun to drive but the trans failed 1K past warranty. If I had to buy something new the Focus would be just my speed, but it would have to be El Cheapo Delux manual everything. I don't want creature comforts and driver aids. The best auto I ever owned was the Power Glide in my '67 El Camino. That was the essence of the KISS principal. Just change the fluid and it'll go forever.

21. Huh. I could have sworn it said something about
Donald Rumsfeld is giving the president his daily briefing. He concludes by saying: "Yesterday, 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed."

"OH NO!" the President exclaims. "That's terrible!"

His staff sits stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as the President sits, head in hands.

Finally, the President looks up and asks, "How many is a brazillion?"

Edited on Fri Dec-12-08 11:55 AM by SlicerDicer-
My car depreciated in value by 79,500$ since it was purchased by the original owner then me.

Hmm I think used is the ticket here :) This is 10 year drop in price... However most cars I would hazard to guess based on tax etc lose at least 5000$ if not more depending on cost the day its driven off the lot

17. I filled the gas tank in July.
Still 3/4 full.

'93 car, now has 141 K miles on it. Drove coast to coast twice.
5 speed, gets 40 mpg hwy ( measure it myself)
have put less than $2500 in it ( rebuilt A/C 3 years ago, 1 timing belt, usual oil changes and twice tires)

We vote with our wallets. It's the American way.

right now those wallets are either snapping shut or have nothing in them.
