It depends on which make and model of a Honda or Toyota you're comparing to which make and model of which American vehicle. Of course, they do tend to hold their resale value far better than the domestics. Ever wonder why that is?

Plus, notice that consistently for many years the Japanese cars come out far higher on customer satisfaction surveys in no small part because of their reliability.
