There a number or factors that have made Japanese Automobile Manufacture competitive in the American marker:
Firstly, they have subsided their market by artificial inflation of Yen. This amounts to a reduction of from $4,500 for the most economical sedan to over $16,000 for a luxury sedan. This provides them with a tremendous advantage in our market.
Secondly, they have located in Southern States that have provided them with substantial incentives amounting to hundreds of millions of dollars. These include building of roads, donation of land, and tax breaks, etc. They also have taken advantage of the lower cost of living in these areas to pay lower wages.
Thirdly, the Japanese have block the U.S. Automakers from marketing their cars in their country. The have not leveled tariffs, but use obstructionists tactics to make it virtually impossible to met their requirements that they change at will.
The United States should retaliate by placing a stiff tariff on all Japanese goods. This should not be limited to Japan but should include any imports for any country that has goods manufactured with slave labor wages.
