UAW workers in Detroit make $30.00 and hour more the Japenese car company U.S. workers!!! What B.S. .. and soo many will hear that and just take it as truth..

1. I believe the UAW workers make the same salary as Japanese co. American workers
But the UAW workers have much better benefits.

Not to mention, even if she got the numbers from somewhere, it will include the pensions. We, the taxpayers, will fund the retirement of the workers from the Japanese plants.

The former labor secretary just said that foreign car makers in the south make $20/HR less than the big three. I figure that is about right, as the cost of living is much cheaper there. I worked for a non-union factory in Texas making Peterbuilt trucks back in the nineties, and we made about the same as our unionized plants.

8. EXCELLENT NPR story this afternoon
Toyota workers actually make MORE than the big 3 workers because Toyota pays their workers annual bonuses which are factored into the salaries.

9. Perhaps the Way to Handle This Would Be:
So if the average wage were $14/hour (or whatever it actually is now) that would be OK with you? Then all you have to do is docuement the actual wages. Agreement reached.
