In Serbia, Blagojevich seen as "defying entire America"
Source: Chicagotribune.com

BELGRADE, Serbia - The case of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich is not just making headlines in America. It is also top news in Serbia, the country of Blagojevich's family origin.(snip)

"We watched the news and could not sleep all night. He must have been framed, it's all politics," Dragan Blagovic, described as a cousin of the governor, was quoted as saying.

Cousin Dragan appeared again in Friday's Blic, saying his famous relative still owns some land in the village so "he can come to Serbia if he cannot take it any more in America."

"He can have a cow or a pig or two, a chicken. ... He is always welcome."

4. I doubt his grasp of reality
has improved over the past few days.

He just might be so scared, he's paralyzed.

Whatever he's up to, it's not going to be boring, that's for sure.

16. Yeah, it's not like he started a war, killing thousands of innocent people.
That's something that most Americans would apparently forgive. This is some really serious shit he's charged with!

I doubt she'd move to Serbia. Much as I might wish.

8. This Serbian thinks Blagojevic is scum...
I was actually born in Belgrade and am a naturalized citizen of the United States who proudly voted for Barack Obama. Rod Blagojevic is yet another Serb to give our people a bad name....just what Bush, Rumsfeld and Cheney have done for the US...think about it in those terms.

11. Moving to Serbia - fast - is his best bet. Ask for asylum, and dodge 20 years in prison.
If his passport hasn't been pulled, this is likely his best bet. Fly out, leave everything behind, go to Serbia, get asylum, be a hero. Of course, he will rip off the Serbs, too.

12. Had to turn in his passport after his arraignment.
And there's no way in hell Patti is voluntarily leaving Chicago. A woman who refused to live in the Governor's Mansion because it isn't in Chicago probably doesn't want to live in a peasant cottage with the cows and pigs right downstairs.

Though that would be delicious to ponder.

18. It's a "clan" and "ethnic pride" mentality - and rally round the wagons when attacked...
even if one of your own IS scum or sick or both...

sad really...I witnessed it in my family over the years...

you can criticize other members of your own family with impunity and even admiration, but let outsiders do it, and "we have a problem"...is the operating principal (principle?) here...
