Richard M. Nixon was my Commander-in-Chief. (I couldn't stand him, and ...
while I was too young to vote in '68, I was proud to vote for George McGovern in '72.) In the interim, I took an AK round, a load of frag, and enjoyed a long stay at Walter Reed. However, Nixon was my President, and I went where he sent me.
Contrast that with the caterwauling by Repuke Representatives, Senators, and pundits (virtually all of whom exercised the Cheney "all the deferments I can get" option) today. Barack Obama has yet to set foot in the Oval Office, yet they are attempting to hamstring him by tying him to every misdeed ever committed by a sleazy Illinois politician. They are demonstrably and vigorously attempting to de-legitimize the next C-in-C.
I'm not an eloquent man, and the question could be better phrased, but tell me, who's the better American, them or me?
