"Toyota Republicans killed the manufacturing base in America."
Buchanan making sense. I'd like to hear the Dem pundits repeating "Toyota Republicans" and "Carmageddon" over and over on the Sunday shows.

I now can believe 6 impossible things before breakfast. I'm working on 7 so I can beat Alice.

3. Let him
When the truth is out everyone will see that the rw shills tried to create something out of nothing. They will be even more discredited.

4. I don't expect this to happen again.
I was just so astounded that it happened at all.
I know he is still a crude RW shill.

2. I know!
I found myself cheering him on this morning on MSNBC attacking the southern republicans and their support of foreign car makers.

6. Mac looked like he was going to have a stroke
when Buchanan said what he did about the Rethug Senators and the bailout.

7. No surprise
Not really. Were it not for his extreme social conservatism, Buchanan probably would have turned Democrat years ago. He has always been a populist, suspicious of the power of excessive wealth and I think in the years after Watergate learned to be suspicious of the excessive Executive branch powers as well. He was one of the earliest and most vocal opponents of the Iraq War.

Pat is not a bad guy, really. But he is an extreme social conservative and pursues those interests with a pathological intensity and focus. Too bad, really. But while Pat and those who find is opinions important may sometimes be "on our side", ya gotta keep that extremist social viewpoint in mind. Those people are not our friends, just because we agree from time to time.

10. Pat is an Economic Nationalist. Take care of America first
then branch out and help others. You will find he
is consistent.

This carries on into his views on trade. America must
have its own Strong Mfg base. Trade Policies should
be conducted on the basis of what is best for America
then others. He was Anti-Nafta for these reasons.
He appears to have been correct.

13. At least Pat is consistent. He has always been a xenophobic isolationist,
and even though I agree with him on this one issue, I detest his usual closed border rationale. I will say this though, I may have to replace my car soon, and was thinking either Nissan Maxima, or Honda Accord. But, at this point, you couldn't GIVE me either. I find I'm becoming a Nationalist as well.

14. Pat is proof that even a blind squirrel finds a nut
now and then. On this, he happens to be right.
