Just recently, there was a big discussion here in Norway caused by a man claiming that making buying sex illegal was denying men their right to sex. Because apparently there are a great number of men who can only get sex through purchase, while women can get sex whenever they want regardless of how ugly they are, because men are so desperate. Not quite relevant to your question, but it has made me think about men, women, and sex lately. Not to mention the view the genders have on what the opposite gender wants with regards to sex. The assumption that all women have had sex is perhaps a sign that the pendulum is swinging too much to the other side, as opposed to when women were only to have sex when their husbands wanted to. Is being past 20 and still a virgin a sign of being unhealthy if you're not part of the freaky abstinence-only cult(ure)? There are a lot of interesting questions and inherent assumptions to look at when it comes to the issue of women and sex.

16. Funny thing is "more sex partners" doesn't translate into "more sex".

A highly promiscuous (however one defines that) person can have multiple sex partners in a given year but not actually have sex all that often. OTOH a person in a happy monogamous relationship might be getting laid every night. :shrug:

This is what I don't get about the abstinence-only virginity fetish nutzoids. They have a point about the value of monogamy (though that's not a state that is desired by or works out for everyone) but they place a strange value on avoiding sex as a way to make it more special and satisfying. Which is oddly counterintuitive because no one ever got good at anything by NOT doing it so why should sex be any different?
