What if the shoe throwing had happened in the U.S.?
What crime if any would the thrower been charged with?

Would the secret service acted any differently?

1. The thrower would have been instantly shot dead by the SS. Or you would have been charged with
threatening the president and jailed forever.

8. Yep. People just don't get it.
I completely understand the man's anger but the MSM needs to stop covering this thing to death and acting like it's a joke. It amazes me that DUers, who were universally appalled by the jeers about killing Obama at McPalin rallies think this is amusing. That reporter is in a world of trouble right now and I don't even want to think about what he's being subjected to in jail. All it would take is one knucklehead here to get it in his or her head to do the same thing and tragedy will ensue.

bejeesus out of innocent people who posed no threat to us whatsoever? You're being ridiculous. I wonder how you would feel if a tyrant bombed the USA then came over here for a fucking photo op to try to rewrite history. YOU MAKE ME SICK!!

15. Knock off the drama. The comparison is about endangering people.
If said tyrant came over here I seriously doubt I'd see you lobbing shoes at him with a bunch of Secret Service agents in attendence.

Sheesh.

14. From what I've read so far this guy is a national celebrity and if anything happens to him
we'll see a massive eruption of violence.

I find it so strange that some people here think mass murder on a scale such as this is acceptable and the victims are supposed to be OK with it. Only the rulers are allowed to admonish other rulers no matter how heinous their crimes?

A war criminal that has destroyed three nations, but people are supposed to simply submit, and if we choose to do nothing about it, well that's fine too?

That is just plain sick.

11. Then, what broke down in Iraq? Shouldn't security be more thorough
in an occupied foreign country?

16. I have no idea how that guy managed to throw 2 shoes.
Back when Clinton was President a young man was arrested for making a shooting sign with his FINGER when the Presidential motorcade went by. That's how vigilant they normally are. You can bet that SS unit is in a lot of hot water over this.

Shoot first, ask questions later.

Edited to add: Not a suggestion by any means, more an observation of police brutality seen far too many times in this country. It seems we have ever more thugs recruited to "serve the peace".

3. A guy in a crowd got locked up for "acting strangely" around Cheney
The guy is now suing for false arrest, but the guy did get taken away, held and questioned for a day or two.

4. According to some very very "concerned " DUers...
a charge that equates to capitol serial murder, pedophilia with murder, arson, and treason, all combined..... and they'd all be lining up to push the lethal injection....:eyes:
