Police's top drunken driving enforcer charged with OVI

Kent (OH) " An Aurora Police sergeant honored by MADD for enforcing drunken driving laws was arrested Dec. 19 at his Kent home and charged with OVI.

Scott A. Garan, 41, was stopped by Kent police about 2:15 a.m. Friday for "erratic driving," according to a police report of the incident.

Police suspected Garan was intoxicated. He refused all sobriety tests, was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence and criminal damaging, both misdemeanors, according to the police report.
The report did not say why he was charged with criminal damaging.

Mayor Lynn McGill did not immediately return a call for comment. Garan was not available at press time.
Garan was named the Aurora department's top OVI enforcer at the October 2008 MADD banquet honoring law enforcement officers who are top enforcers of drunken driving laws in their Portage County departments. He has been with Aurora police for 17 years.

1. Is OVI like DUI? Or DWI? I hope they castrate him and send him to jail for 30 years..

... check his car. I bet he was in possession of a cigarette lighter or rolling papers or some other evils. That is Possession of Paraphernalia.. a felony. Because..."We must save the children".

And being that he was involved in a Felony.. confiscation laws state that he loses his car and all it's contents.. they now belong to the State of Ohio to be sold off to the highest bidder.

Nazi Germany was never this bad.
