I think I would tell her to move from middle right to middle left and stay there.

6. I'd tell her to relax and be herself
so much of what she says is overly-scripted; I truly believe that underneath all the scripting, she's truly vibrant, personable, and passionate about the issues. We don't get to see the real Hillary often enough.

15. Sadly,
I believe that what we are seeing really is the authentic Hillary Clinton. She isn't really scripted, she just comes off that way.

Charisma. Some people got it, and some people don't.

7. Drop out!
We've had enough of the DLC. We've had enough of Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton. When does it end? When the last job is shipped out of this country thanks to your fake free trade deals?

9. Quit trying so hard with your public speaking style. Your interviews are so
natural and articulate; it doesn't come across the same way in speeches. You tend to sound over-rehearsed and somewhat stilted.

The strength is there but is deliberately mischaracterized as "stridency" or worse by the reich wing; nothing you can really do about that. If you soften your tone, they'll accuse you of BEING soft. Nothing you can really do about that either, besides acknowledge it with humor (which you've shown you can do; good for you!) and make the rePiglicans look even worse in the process.

I agree, quit moving to the right! That crowd of shallow, substance over style, all talk and no action fuckers are never going to vote for you anyway, so quit trying to attract them.

Most voters in this country actually support a largely progressive agenda. You don't need to move to the right. We don't need rePiglican Lite. Joe Lieberman has that job already; you don't want it.
There must be a CLEAR distinction between the rePiglicans and progressives.
Make it clear who you are and what your priorities are (NOT what those of the DLC or the DCCC or any other collection of alphabet letters are) and let Bill do most of the talking if you can't get the public speaking thing down.

Push fixing social security by making Congress pay into/take no more than other folks out of SS. No more automatic lifetime pensions at taxpayer expense for having served ONE TERM.
Single-payer health care...find out what it would cost if all Americans could buy into the plan you as a Senator have. Bet if 300 million people were all on it, we could negotiate a pretty sweet price, don't you think?

That's all I can think of right now.
Oh wait...this sucks that I should mention this, because it should NOT MATTER ONE LITTLE BIT, but it does, in this superficial media age...
keep your hair straight. Not FLAT on top, a little lift is nice, but the curls thing just isn't working, sorry. Be NATURAL. Your hair, your makeup, your message, your style, your tone...just be YOU. You're an intelligent, articulate, well-educated, thoughtful, qualified person. Sell that person by BEING that person.

11. Number Three
In all of your political career, you've only led on two issues: no-insurance-CEO-left-behind HillaryCare, and the criminalization of flag burning. On everything else, you've waited and waited until public sentiment was settled.

Go out on a limb, and lead on a third issue. Even a fourth.

14. Drop out of the race
While I believe she would make a fine president, the unfortunate reality is that the general voting public votes on image rather than issues. She comes off as robotic and scripted, and not at all charismatic. She may not actually be scripted and phony, but that is how she comes off, and that is all that matters when the general voting population has a collective IQ ranging from Dumber to Dumb.

Renounce the IWR vote as a youthful indiscretion before you found Jesus, divorce Bill, take a vow of celibacy, change campaign paraphernalia to Hillary Rodham, maybe add a small icon of a rod going through a ham. Am I hired?

23. Stop making "canned' speeches.. Talk "real"
hit the issues that matter:

health care..REAL health care...medicare for everyone
education.. AFFORDING IT
welfare...helping the downtrodden
social security...paying back what was "borrowed"
media regulation... as in REGULATE IT, and make it work FOR us again
PAPER BALLOTS-PAPER BALLOTS-PAPER BALLOTS..and real people to count the votes
energy costs..as in nationalize the refineries if necessary, build more, and make gasoline more affordable, so people can afford to go to work..
BUT..also fund and promote solar for homes and efficient CAFE standards for all vehicles

FIXING NEW ORLEANS AND GETTING THOSE PEOPLE BACK WHERE THEY WERE
bringing ALL the troops back..ASAP
having a real summit with people we disagree with and figuring out what there problems are

we don't care all that much about flag burning these days.. I mean when was the last time you had to fan yourself or close the windows because of all the heat and smoke from all those burning flags?

we DO care about abortion/gay marriage/gun control....BUT those issues will NEVER really be "solved" in a presidential campaign, now will they? They are only dusted off and taken off the shelf every election season, and you should know that.

just a few ideas..:)

26. It is the same old wine. Kenny Loggins
Edited on Thu Mar-22-07 01:34 AM by IChing
Well we give them the election
They keep filling our heads full of lies
Can we trust in new directons
When their promises are in disquise
Well someday the truth will catch up
I just hope it don't catch us all by surprise

They preach this thing, religion
But we show no faith at all
Follow suit on Sunday
But on Monday, forget it all
If the times should find us needing him
Then my friends, Lord have mercy on our soul

It's the same old wine
In a brand new bottle
It's the same old wine
In a brand new bottle

Teach our children virture
Then we send'em off to war
Then we ask ourselves the question
What and the hell are we fighting for
If you should find a reason
Well don't be afraid to open the door
Well don't be afraid

Same old wine
From a brand new bottle
Same old wine
From a brand new bottle
The same old wine
From a brand new bottle
