2. Sad yet awesome all at once. I have to say, though, I've had my kids in outfits/getups and if they
had been kidnapped in them, I would have looked like the most neglectful/odd/trashy mom ever. Sometimes it happens.

3. 1 ft. tall is really small for a human baby. Even newborns are often over 20 inches.

15. At six months the legs are still folded up most of the time -- I doubt that 12" is the extended
length of the child and/or somebody is not good at estimating length.

17. It's strange to see the word "tall" used for an infant. (I've only heard "long" used.)
... like THAT'S what's bizarre about this story. Yikes.

Still seems small for six months.

Oh, and at that link it says he weighs 28 lbs. But the Miami Herald says he weighs 11 pounds. Can't believe he'd weigh so little.

she's wicked small, but I am not even 5 feet tall. She's in the 25th percentile for her age group. She's about 32".

The parents are idiots. That's really sad.

OR...

they've been in a cave, and have never heard of Caylee Anthony, and don't know how badly the "missing kid and babysitter" story is received by normal intelligent people.

8. babysitter was running late, mom let her keep baby til next day. WTF?
parents were a little lax in the keep-track-of-baby department:

Hours later, she sent another message that she was running late and stuck in traffic. Eventually, McCormick had to leave her home, and said she would await Camille's coming over later the next day.

38. So do I.
What a creepy set of details -- babysitter just happened to move down from Boston, couple didn't know her last name, etc. The only other explanation that occurs to me is that "Camille" is the birth mother and the couple didn't legal adopt the child.

11. what a weird story
A baby that is only 12"? The parents didn't know the nanny's last name? The parents didn't get worried when the nanny couldn't bring him home? The kid disappeared on November 23rd -- I'm sure any fake tattoo is long gone if he's still alive.

18. If I'm reading the story right, the nanny cares for the boy at her house, so the parents have NEVER
visited the place where their child is taken. That is very neglectful, IMHO. But I hope the boy is found safe.

where she lives, they also say she's 20-30 yrs old? Come on!!! They need to lock them both up right now...I bet we'll figure out where the baby is then.

34. As it turns out, allegedly not only the nanny in this story is fake,
Edited on Fri Dec-26-08 09:54 AM by lizzy
but also the baby.
"NO NANNY AND NO BABY

It turns out there is no Camille and there is no Riley.

Miami police said Friday that the whole story was fabricated by the woman who claimed to be the missing child's mother.

That woman, Megan McCormick, has now been charged with filing a false police report."

http://wbztv.com/local/missing.boy.hoax.2.895156.html

Apparently there is no 1 foot tall missing baby (who is either 11 or 28 pounds) with one tooth and a fake tattoo of an anchor.
We can all rest easy.
