Last night John Stewart was brilliant
Why can't Bush sent Rove to Congress to swear on the bible and tell the fucking truth. That was sweet. Then he brought on Doris to tear Bolton a new one and we were crying with laughter. Go John Stewart. Keep it Real!

And John Oliver was right on falling down funny. Gotta try to tape the repeat this afternoon.

BTW: Is John Oliver the voice of the GEICO Gecko ?

5. I gotta get his quote about why Rove must be free to give candid advice
Edited on Thu Mar-22-07 07:13 AM by Atman
I don't want to butcher it here, but it was one his best..."So he can lie, (etc, etc, etc)..."

.

4. The video of the rioting Pakistani lawyers was hilarious

I was watching it thinking "you know this 'good advice' thing is complete crap" and then he and John Oliver went right into that.

6. Colbert was brilliant too.
Taunting the Democrats to impeach Bush after reading a litany of offensives. Calling them "pussies" if they don't.

10. I was *so* hoping that he wouldn't let Bolton's BS from the previous night stand...
... and was thrilled that he skewered Bolton with the truth. I only wish that ALL media outlets that allowed these Right Wing shills on had similar scroti, and aired followup segments analyzing the factual truthfulness of statements made.

I'd *love* a well-funded and staffed show that could do so in real time. Hell, I wouldn't think it that difficult to integrate a web-oriented research staff (chock full of low-paid interns and volunteers), to provide rapid response to the political spin, Right *or* Left.

Or maybe we just need an intelligent, knowledgeable interviewer. (Colbert is the closest thing we have, and he has to critique the RW through parody -- from a late night, basic cable platform.)

11. That is how a journalist deals with a LIAR
Amusing that it takes a comedian to expose Bolton. That was soooooo sweet.

12. Precisely!! That followup segment underscores how feckless our "news" media...
Edited on Thu Mar-22-07 01:58 PM by krkaufman
... truly is. How often do you seem the MSM similarly contrasting/comparing a politician's current words and/or actions with those from the past? That's the bread and butter of TDS and Colbert. Heck, TDS and Colbert would lose much of their content if the news media were properly doing their job.
