Why is it that suppressed never try to "get even" ...
... but rather pick someone weaker to make their whipping bitch once they are in a position of power?
Boys who were abused by men grow up to become men who abuse boys. They don't grow up to become men who go spree shooting in nursing homes.
I mean, even if people end up in a position of power that would enable them to get back at whoever did it to them, they seem to still be more likely to take it out on someone else.
your emotions deal with you". There is so much tied up with abuse and childhood. The sense of identity, the idea of 'normal', and then getting far enough away to see things clearly. And then there's always the guilt and the shame.
