A 26 year old soldier went home for the holidays and died.
His local obit doesn't have any information on whether he had been to Iraq or Afghanistan, whether he had been injured, or any cause of death. Nothing, like "hunting accident" or "auto accident" mentioned. I guess he will be another one of the uncounted victims of the war. My guess is suicide unless someone here can set me straight.

3. Not any more. The obit was removed from the paper as of today
because his funeral is over. I think the patriot guard or some group named similarly were supposed to show up for support.

2. Maybe he was in an auto accident? Maybe he fell off of a ladder?
Without any information, I think assuming suicide is a stretch...

4. Not auto accident. The Obit said "At his home." There was a
condolence blog (closed) for his family, and something about it made me think of suicide. There were no references to prior injuries or illness. The way the messages were written had me wondering. Even today's shut-down of his obit has me wondering.

Yeah, it is a stretch, but a gut-feeling stretch.

6. I was able to find out the answer about a long lost friend who died
by emailing the medical examiner. It's a longshot but it might work. I'm so grateful that they told me what happened because it helped with closure.

7. I did that already. Nothing much out there.
I even tried a few variations, with and without his rank.
