Okay, so I am watching the drama and idiocy unfld in Gaza, thinking of Iran's threats, tc...and then see the news that Saudi King has called Bush to ask "major" countries to take action to stop this...

Can the Lame Duck stil get us in yet ANOTHER International clusterfuck before leaving office?

So Bushie launches some stupid tacticcal offensive and then Iran decides to get involved..
...and then that escalates to a limited nuclear exchange in that area...
...and then he uses it as an excuse to put US on Lockdown and implement Martial Law

would he be that crazy? would he have the power to hold on to the office and the power indefinately? would he do it just so he could start another war that he could say he "won"...?

just speculating, and wondering if we are out of the woods yet. I worry that until the Obamas are moved in to the WH, we are all still prisoners of this regime.

because they suspect that Obama will behave more like past administrations and rein in this shit. The whole thing could certainly blow up, but if Bush tried to invoke martial law at this point I seriously doubt the American people would put up with it. His approval ratings are in the tank, along with the economy, and Americans cherish the illusion of being the shining beacon of freedom in the world. Four years ago Bush might have gotten away with it, but not now.

Sure, why not. He has nothing to lose and this has been the plan all along. It looks to me like Israel is trying to provoke Iran and start WW3 and W would be happy to join in. I don't think he wants to stay in office though, I think he wants to dump the whole mess on Obama's desk, and Obama will be forced to contine it because 'we are at war' and 'we can't leave now'
