ABC's Night Line: Dem Scandals! Scandals! Scandals!
Hey it's what the Whore Media does.

You'd think after 8 years of death, rot, ruin and greed these would be relative non-stories. But the entire show had Blago (who'd he kill? Rip off or invade?), Gov. Spitzer's disgrace and fall (Oh my! That sex is such a killer with or with the hypocrisy) and then John Edward's mess (really he lost and even if he'd won about 40% of all Presidents that we know had affairs). There was almost no mention of supremely important scandals -- you know the ones that ignore The Constitution, wipe out 1000's of lives and lose trillions of dollars.

So this is what we have to look forward to as the Corporate Media starts its grind to foist the Corporate Pigs back on us.

2. Bush’s raging-racist scandals are horrible
Bush’s raging-racist scandals are horrible.

“WASHINGTON Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says the country is not ‘race-blind’ and ‘we shouldn’t deceive ourselves that we’re race-blind,’ but she said the election of Barack Obama as the first African-American president was a key moment in history. ‘I think all Americans were quite taken with the fact that we were able, after the long history we’ve been through, that initial birth defect of slavery, that we’ve elected an African-American,’ Rice said in an interview taped recently on CBS’ Sunday Morning. ‘And that’s enormously heartening for people in the country, but also people worldwide who still have trouble with differences.’ Rice, who left segregated Alabama to eventually become the first African-American woman to be secretary of state, warned that the United States still has problems with race. ‘But I do think we’ve gotten to the place that we don’t see a person and say, ‘That’s a black person, therefore they must be ...’ And that’s an enormous step forward’” ((No author listed). (2008, December 29). U.S. still has problems with race, Rice warns. http://www.baltimoresun.com/. Retrieved December 30, 2008, from http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/nation/bal-te.briefs292dec29,0,6091459.story).

For example, George W. Bush is not race-blind and still has problems with race.

On balance, George W. Bush is a hate-crime criminal (indicated at http://andrewyu-jenwang.blogspot.com/2008/12/what-did-you-think-of-that-naacp-anti.html: “George W. Bush had better stop committing hate crimes”).

On balance, George W. Bush hates Jews (indicated at http://andrewyu-jenwang.blogspot.com/2008/12/george-w-bush-dislikes-or-hates-jews-in.html: “George W. Bush dislikes or hates Jews in his heart and mind”).

On balance, George W. Bush hates immigrants (indicated at http://andrewyu-jenwang.blogspot.com/2008/12/george-w-bush-hates-immigrants.html: “George W. Bush hates immigrants”; and http://andrewyu-jenwang.blogspot.com/2008/12/what-did-you-think-of-that-naacp-anti.html: “George W. Bush had better stop committing hate crimes”).

On balance, George W. Bush hates black people (indicated at http://andrewyu-jenwang.blogspot.com/2008/12/andrew-yu-jen-wang-responds-to-stokely.html: “Andrew Yu-Jen Wang responds to Stokely Carmichael’s comment in Wang’s blog”).

On balance, George W. Bush hates Latino people (indicated at http://andrewyu-jenwang.blogspot.com/2008/12/what-did-you-think-of-that-naacp-anti.html: “George W. Bush had better stop committing hate crimes”).

On balance, George W. Bush hates Arabs and Muslims (indicated at http://andrewyu-jenwang.blogspot.com/2008/12/what-did-you-think-of-that-naacp-anti.html: “George W. Bush had better stop committing hate crimes”; and http://andrewyu-jenwang.blogspot.com/2008/11/george-w-bush-is-racist.html: “George W. Bush is a racist”).

On balance, George W. Bush hates Indian people (indicated at http://andrewyu-jenwang.blogspot.com/2008/11/george-w-bush-is-racist.html: “George W. Bush is a racist”).

On balance, George W. Bush hates Filipino people (indicated at http://andrewyu-jenwang.blogspot.com/2008/11/george-w-bush-is-racist.html: “George W. Bush is a racist”).

Bush is like Adolf Hitler: Bush in such an uncontainable manner wants to maintain that his race is superior to all other races.

Bush’s racial prejudices are shocking to the conscience.

3. I'll take a thousand and one of these "scandals" as light entertainment
compared to the all time unholy motherfucker invasion & occupation of Iraq. Okay?

5. ABC is utterly useless
and I've avoided them since they aired PT9/11. I've avoided all TV newscasts since 2004 with the exception of the occasional Olberman rant that has been posted here.

The worst thing you can do to those pigs is deprive them of a warm body delivered to their sponsors. If enough of us do it, their sponsors will start to see a decrease in sales and just maybe it'll dawn on them that people would prefer to be informed, not fed tabloid shit and corporate pap.

Honestly, watching the TV news is just a habit for most people: flop down after work, flip on the set, think about dinner, and wait for delivery or the microwave while it's on. It's an easy habit to break and I managed to do it without cable or satellite. It's much easier with those things, though.

There is no reason to keep watching those morons lie to us.

8. I watch the local news so I can see the weather,
mostly in the winter. Our Midwestern weather is unpredictable enough that I need to know how to dress and if I can get down the driveway. After the weather, I turn off the TV.

11. ABC is the worst of the three.
They slant to the corporate right, always. The big three aren't identical: CBS is much more likely to tell the plain unvarnished truth. I only wish they hadn't caved to pressure and fired Rather.

7. Instead of attacking the media at this point in time, I think our time is better spent
shooting down the arguments of our fellow DUers who are defending Blago and his appointment to the Senate.....does Obama really need to start his admin. with one of these media-ready, retro, Clintonesque scandals?

9. I note that Blagojevich has been charged, Spitzer is no longer
serving as governor of New York, and Edwards dropped out of the race.

In contrast, Bush, Cheney, Condoleeza Rice, et al. are still in office. The scandals in which Bush, Cheney, Rice, et al. are involved are far more serious than those of Blagojevich, Spitzer and Edwards whose scandals involve either megalomaniac plans or sexual indiscretions.

I also note that Senators Vitter and Craig, both of whom were involved in sexual scandals are completing their terms in the Senate.

Moral of the story: Democrats who involve themselves in scandals pay big-time. Republicans who involve themselves in scandals -- not so much.

10. Want to let the Media Whores know how you feel? Don't turn on the TUBE.
Then educate your TV-hypnotized friends, family, and co-workers about the evils of the TUBE.

There's a reason it's called the "idiot box".
