Have the Freepers starting posting death wishes for Elizabeth Edwards yet?
It's only a matter of time. I just thought they might start early today.

12. They'll think John should divorce Elizabeth
just like their slimeball hero Gingrich did to his wife as she battled the disease.

The Edwards family doesn't deserve this because they've paid the ultimate heartbreak already in losing their son.

We're the ones posting insults in the guise of what Freepers "would say." This thread is lame.

27. You are correct..
Not only did this happen, but EE posted a message saying how disappointed she was in the chatter on DU. Her post, eloquent and effective as usual, caused many posters to say how bad they felt about things they had posted.

Freepers may question..why the press conference?.. but I don't they will celebrate her misfortune. I personally don't think a press conference was necessary, but that is just my opinion.

EE will be in my prayers.

39. I think the press conference was entirely appropriate. Her cancer recurrence is big news, and
was very likely to end John's candidacy. Whether he decided to stay in or not, such a press conference was entirely appropriate even if you didn't consider it "necessary".

Also, considering he decided to stay in, it's better to break the bad news yourself and get out ahead of the news and have a LITTLE control over it.

I disagree with your take.

Go over there and raise hell. I would but I was banned from there a long time ago for calling Rush Limbaugh a "Jackass"

19. I sincerely doubt that anyone "forces" Elizabeth Edwards to do anything
If he's not withdrawing or even suspending his campaign it's because she doesn't want him to. But, you know the Freepers will be all over him for not quitting. They just can't conceive of a couple who are equal partners in the marriage.

Does anyone believe for a minute he would drop out if he was leading in the polls?

Edwards just used her to get free TV time on the national networks.

I always get the shivers when I see that junk science lawyer Edwards standing next to that woman, it looks like she should be his mother instead of his wife.
they needed a noon conference to tell us she had cancer again, they just couldn't write a little blog on their socialist Edwards 2008 website??
Edwards using his wife's health problems to get media time and attention is pretty bad, but I guess with Obama and Hillary stealing the limelight he had to roll old Elizabeth out today at noon and get a free hours worth of TV air time off of her
i guess the tricks that Edwards used in the courtroom for years are now the same tricks he is using to get the media to come to his house
I'm surprised they did not use the front porch of their 28,000 Square Foot house to hold their press conference at, why would they not want to show us their new house??

33. I wish the very best for Elizabeth Edwards
Not to be judgemental but I really don't like this post or the question. We will forever be apart as Americans unless we can somehow rise above and come together. I know the past few years have been horendous and the republican party has gone to hell with dishonesty and shameful behavior, but the majority of the people who follow them are in the dark about whats going on. Most of them are used to being led around by the noses. We need to keep fighting to get the word out and to demand accountability from government. I can see it happening all around us now. It's like the damn is just so close to bursting. More and more news outlets are starting to report on more than just right wing talking points. I know Fox and CNN are probably lost causes but look at whats been happening at MSNBC.

I hope you are wrong and they don't wish anything of the sort. Maybe I'm naive but in order for this country to survive, we need to be united. Maybe thats wishful thinking but more and more people are waking up to the fact that we have all been lied to and used. My wish is that one day *ush will wake up and find himself alone.

At any rate, I adore Elizabeth Edwards and wish the very best for her and her family.
