Connecticut DUers - WTIC cans McEnroe & Smith, their only on-air Democrats
Cross-posted in the Lounge...

Colin McEnroe, a funny and intelligent left-of-center host, is out, as is more moderate Democrat Diane Smith. Right-winger Ray Dunaway will continue on alone in the morning without Smith, while McEnroe will be replaced by a local news show. Right-Wing extremist Jim Vicevich's show is being expanded by an hour and will now run 9-12am before Limbaugh.

McEnroe had always been a nice counterbalance following the Limbaugh show, while Smith was an offset to the talkative RWer Dunaway, though she was more like Colmes to his Hannity, but it was something. I guess that is gone now.

are they filing for bankruptcy?

I know the Courant's parent company is/was the Tribune company. McEnroe has been a columnist there as well.
