Every single time an argument erupts on DU, there will be numerous threads complaining that "DU never used to be like this" and "I used to be able to come to DU to read important things but now it's just full of (type of argument) nonsense!" and there will be hundreds of recs from others who apparently never once saw an argument on DU before that one.
