Iraq vet's lawyer:He Fired In Self-Defense In Shooting Over Noisy Moviegoers
PHILADELPHIA — An Iraq veteran charged in a Christmas night shooting over noisy moviegoers fired in self-defense, his lawyer said.

James Joseph Cialella, 29, of Philadelphia, is charged with firing a shot that broke the arm of Woffard Lomax Jr. inside a movie theater during a screening of the film "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button."

A defense lawyer argued that Cialella was being choked and punched as he tried to break up the fight and fired in self-defense.

"He's a marksman," lawyer Greg Pagano said. "If he wanted to shoot to kill, he would have."

Somehow, his supposed restraint in not shooting to kill doesn't make me
feel any sympathy.

battling against the insanity of Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome, it seems he may have lost that fight.

I wonder how many times he was sent to Iraq?

One thing about the movie "The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons" the protagonist is born old and grows younger, maybe Cialella was trying to go back in time to a point in his life before Iraq?

Thanks for the thread, Are_grits_groceries.

2. The man was trained to kill. He did what he was trained to do when assaulted.
The problem with the US is that after the war is over, these people who have been turned into killing machines are simply dumped on the streets of America with no period to deprogram them or offer mental counseling after traumatic war. A lot of people came home from war with the kill switch still left at "ON."
