Blackwell wins Phyllis Schlafly's endorsement for RNC chair
by Sabrina Eaton
Saturday January 03, 2009, 6:39 AM

Former Ohio Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell's bid for Republican National Committee chairman was endorsed this morning by longtime conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly, according to a press release from the Eagle Forum, which she heads.

"Ken Blackwell is a solid social and fiscal conservative who is dedicated to the principles that brought the Republican Party to power in 1980 and can do so again," Schlafly says in the press release. "He has 13 successful campaigns under his belt. He has run for office himself and knows how to win."

Blackwell, a former Cincinnati mayor, is among six Republicans vying to lead the GOP after last year's nationwide defeats. He has also been endorsed by former GOP presidential candidate Steve Forbes and Club for Growth head Pat Toome, and roughly a dozen members of the RNC.

5. That woman gives me flashbacks to when I was a kid
For some reason she was on TV, telling everyone how women should not have the same rights as men (must have been about the time the ERA failed, I guess). I asked my mom who she was, and mom said, "Oh, she's some lawyer that thinks every woman except her shouldn't have a job."

6. Personally, I think the late "sounds like witchy" MISTER Blackwell would have been a better pick!!
The late fashion critic could have brought some sorely-needed style to the GOP! His first task? Telling Phyllis to get that dead squirrel off her head!!
