19. my exact 4 - though they're all needed on committees too...
Kerry will be leading foreign relations, Dodd banking, Boxer environment and public works, and there is a ton to do on those. I think the majority leader doesn't usually chair a committee. Can't remember if Feingold is a committee chair already?

Anyway, I agree with your top 4!

4. Feingold or Boxer would be my first choices.
Edited on Sat Jan-03-09 09:35 PM by Sebastian Doyle
Leahy, Kerry, or Durbin would be OK. Schumer is completely NOT acceptable (he'd be as bad as Spineless Reid if not worse.) I thought Dodd was a good fit for the job during the FISA mess, but I'm not so sure now after the Wall Street Meltdown.

34. Okay, FISA, Iraq, bailout...she voted Nay with Byrd.
She can have it. She's prettier, probably smells better even if she's not as eloquent as Byrd (nobody is). Sadly I must petition this choice through our own Bill Nelson who I'd be willing to help defeat in the primaries...he knows it too. He and I don't communicate much these days.

17. The Dems have already re-elected Reid majority leader.
In the 111th Congress, Reid will serve his third consecutive two-year term as Senate Democratic Leader, his second as Senate Majority Leader.

Also, I doubt Senators Boxer, Dodd, Kerry, Leahy and Feingold would be interested. The majority leader cannot chair a committee. They spend most of their time in the Senate coordinating floor activities.

36. Leadership, competance, representative government owing...
allegiance to the citizenry of this country. Someone with a vision and purpose for the nation who is universally respected by their peers and constituents so that things actually get done other than bailing out bankers and enabling a police state both domestic and abroad. Someone other than a boot-licking blue dog.

There, I've said it, now ask me a hard one.

40. Yes, I know, Pelosi is the leader who enables down the street from...
Reid. The pretender that sits in Rayburn's chair and has T. Boone for a business partner. I'll chalk the spelling error up to ebonics since you caught the drift.

He's a bit to the right of my politics, but he's tough, he's got class, and he'd kick some ass. The man has a spine, which is more that I can say for Harry Reid.

did the bullet make him dead. Murder or suicide, it dropped off the map real quick.

There hasn't been a damn word about it since it happened. There's nothing to research either, funeral notice, coroners report...nothing.
