Harry Reid: Rove is the target

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2007/03/reid_wonders_if.html

<snip>

This situation, Reid argued, is why White House deputy chief of staff Karl Rove must be put under oath in the U.S. attorneys flap.

Reid didn't seem to have much concern about putting other White House aides under oath, concentrating squarely on Rove.

"This is a man who was this close," Reid said, nearly touching two fingers for proper emphasis, "to being indicted (in the CIA leak investigation)."

"Each day it is becoming more apparent to the American people that this White House is covering something up," Reid continued, adding that "there could be obstruction of justice" in the U.S. attorneys imbroglio.

2. You can bet your sweet bippy he's the target.
He shouldn't even have an office in the WH. Why are we paying tax dollars for the President's POLITICAL ADVISOR? IMO, it's NOT JUST Rove. It's Little Lord Pissypants, too.

No polictical advisor in history has ever had the kind of access that Rove has today. Am I wrong?

17. That's the "shadow man"
He was the political advisor for another guy, who was exactly like Bush.

Here he is with his boss...

Nobody talked to Hitler before going through Martin Bormann...the other Rove.

6. Yeah,
but take away Bush's Brain or whatever part of the body you think Rove controls, and then you have a tiny, little man left that doesn't know what to do or say, cuz "it's hard, such hard work bein' prezident".

Two of the worst people on the face of the Earth demonstrating exactly why I feel that way.

13. Actually, if Rove was never "a target",
why was a letter from Patrick Fitzgerald's office to Rove's attorney necessary in the first place?

A "target" is evidently notified via letter to counsel. Rove got a letter notifying him he would not be charged? What else was in that letter?

It'll be fun to watch Mr. Conyers, Mr. Waxman and their committees chat with Mr. Rove. Perhaps I should hurry out now and stock up.

14. Getting Rove accomplishes nothing
he is just an advisor. He can advise from anywhere, whether he is simply forced to resign and has to do so as a private citizen, or if he does so from prison.

23. Yep, he is the mastermind but with no elected status or official power.
Not much can be done to him, fire him, he just gets an office
down the street from the WH.

21. Poor Rove, just barely squirmed out of Fitz's reach, now he is on the run again.
He might want to buy Maalox by the case.
Life is not going well for him these days.
