So major media got it half-right, Elizabeth Edwards' cancer has, indeed, recurred and spread to her bone but John Edwards will NOT withdraw from the Presidential race. Now if we could just draft Al Gore we'd have the makings of a great primary!

In other news, as was widely speculated, the Walter Reed was indeed just the tip of the iceberg. According to a recently disclosed internal review, The U.S. Veterans Affairs' vast network of 1,400 health clinics and hospitals is beset by maintenance problems such as mold, leaking roofs and even a colony of bats.

The report found that 90 percent of the 1,100 problems cited were deemed to be of a more routine nature: worn-out carpet, peeling paint, mice sightings and dead bugs at VA centers, according to the Associated Press. pick up a bag of food when we take Skid to the vet tomorrow. This recall has me really freaked out. Now they get Iams dry food, which I haven't seen included in the recall, but I don't want to take any chances with my boys.

I fed Special Kitty wet, becuase oddly enough it was the brand that Sam was able to keep down the easiest. Now with recall, I got rid of the remaining SK wet and will finish off the dry bag, and switch to Whiskas dry. Whiskas is made by M&M/Mars, a human food company vs Menu Foods, a mezzanine capital fund. A bit more trust goes to whiskas.

It's been a wild day here! First thing this morning we realized that someone had broken the back windshield out of the car that the 17 yr. old drives while it was sitting in our driveway! I listened to Mike's show until the end so I know it happened well after 12 p.m.! The truly scary thing is that hubbie nor I heard it while it was happening!!! The headboard of our bed is on the wall closest to the driveway, DAMN!

117. They need to take another urin sample - the lab didn't pick up

the one they got last week because of the bad weather we had. I feel awful about putting him through that again. His blood work and the x-rays didn't show any abnormalities, this is the last thing they want to check to make sure there's nothing going on.

That sucks about the windshield. Who would have done something like that?

144. I hope that he'll be okay. I have a cat who I picked up from a

childhood friend when she agreed to keep my boys for a few hours after they attended a family function of my aunt & uncle's 50th anniversary and their oldest daughter got married at the same place and at the same celebration. To try to make a long story short, my older male cat is the one that we brought home from her house when we went to pick up our boys. She died of breast cancer 2 yrs. ago and that cat is one of my last living links with her, and when there is something going on with him we go to the vet.

Granted, I'm fond of him for who he is, but I know somewhere in the back of my mind I don't want anything to happen to him because my emotional links aren't simply that he's a great cat! I hope that makes some sense.

The deputy from the sheriff's dept. repeatedly state to us that whoever broke the back glass out is someone who knows my boy! Someone in the neighborhood or someone he goes to school with (this I challenged because he doesn't attend the school he's zoned for, and anyone from his school would have to travel to try to take the speakers out of his car). I have no idea who did it, but apparently they weren't expecting the speakers to be bolted in, nor for the neighbor's dogs to be barking, snarling, and growling at them! I suppose I'll have to limit my cussing of those dogs now, lol!

My dear departed kitty, Willie, was my sister's cat for the first 15 years of his life. Willie, who was 20 when he died, was a member of our family longer than my four youngest niece and nephews and was around for the last years of my parents' lives. Everyone in the family was crushed when he died.

Someone broke the back glass out of the car that the 17 yr. old drives - what a thing to wake up to - and even worse, hubby and I didn't hear it while it was happening!

Apparently someone was trying to steal the speaker out of that car, but it's just weird that neither of us heard it. I listened to Mike until he went off air at 12:00, then I went out on the porch to try to convince my older cat to come in, and to smoke, so I know this happened well after 12:00.

Anyway, the shock has worn off, the car is in the shop for repairs, and we've been workin' like demons in the yard!

Since it wasn't gonna cost as much as we were originally quoted five evergreen "shrubs" were planted in my yard today! They are stated to be fast-growing, grow to 8'-10 and they will span 8'-10' also! They may not exchange carbon dioxide as rapidly as deciduous trees, but they will be there year-round! Good from something bad I say. :toast:

I'm glad Mike hasn't taken sides yet in the primary. more importantly I'm glad that even the Democrats who aren't Edwards supporters are rallying behind him.

this is what parties are for, when one party uses something like this to condemn the other party..the people who support the other party are the ones who take it personally. I hope more Republicans who are cancer survivors stand up against these kind of attacks, and give Edwards another look.
