New ads target Republican senators on recovery bill
Amid a worsening economic crisis that resulted in 2.6 million American jobs being lost last year, and with layoffs accelerating in the early part of 2009, Americans United for Change, MoveOn.org Political Action, AFSCME and SEIU announced a robust television advertising campaign today as part of the Campaign for Jobs and Economic Recovery.

Targets:Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine, Judd Gregg of New Hampshire, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Charles Grassley of Iowa

I'd make it even harsher and run it 24/7.

1. Aren't those the ONLY republicans we can expect any support from?
Why would we target them for adverse advertisements?

2. Because they are the most vunerable
Pick off the sick and wounded on the fringes of the herd and work your way inwards.

3. Olympia Snowe vulnerable? Hardly.
And Susan Collins just won re-election, so she's not going anywhere anytime soon.

4. They aren't that vulnerable precisely because
they have been moderates. If they want to play on the team with their RW buddies on the
stimulus package, maybe this will be a small reminder.

5. I'm not talking necessarily about re-election
If a member of congress lives in a moderate district, they are vulnerable at all times because a targeted ad campaign can flood their office with pissed off constituents. It's more about keeping the moderates moderate and holding them accountable at ALL times, not just every 6 years.
