And your mother is ugly too...!
Whoa!!! WTF!!!

I just heard Obama and Biden speaking out for unions and the rights of workers. Did I hear the President say that labor was not part of the problem - they are part of the solution?? Did he say that he was signing an executive order requiring employers to inform employees of their rights to organize? Not just those employees under government contract, but all employees??

Suddenly, there is a nationwide shortage of toilet paper. I can imagine a lot of big shot Republicans, like Rush Limbaugh and George W Bush, shitting all over themselves. Just as the MSNBC talking head tried to spin it as most "symbolic", I think a lot of Republican leaders will attempt to do the same?

And it all happens as the Republicans are gathered to elect their new Party leadership. This is the probably the best news I have heard from any White House in my lifetime. This is an historic day. It is unfortunate that we had to wait until the economy was in shambles to hear it. But, just for shock value, this is a very good day!

3. My latest synopsis-Obama is actually trying to return America back to the 50's
WITH all of the civil rights advances we have made since then.

Honest wages (union influenced) regular hours (weekends) vacation every year- a nice Christmas-availability of college
Middle class fueled economy and the uber riche will still make tons of money

DC is so caught up in day-to-day "gotcha" that they don't see it coming. Governance not just politics, because to the DC crowd (all sides) politics is distraction for the masses.

He is also bringing people into involvement in their government which they have been systematically dissuaded from doing since Watergate.

6. That would work for me. Minus the "duck and cover" shit, too, of course.
And the "House Committee on Un-American Activities" and blacklisting crap as well.

And the lack of equal rights for women on top of civil rights for minorities.

And the blatant waste of resources and environmental pollution.

But in terms of people being able to envision a better life for their children and grandchildren, a placing of value on fewer things of better quality, less consumerism/more time interacting with people rather than stuff, sure, I could get behind that.

4. And the whirling noise you hear is Ronnie Raygun's corpse spinning like a
maniacal top. If it could only be hooked up to a generator, CA's energy problems would be solved.

12. IN the 50's and 60's, a non college educated parent could...
...raise 3 children,

buy a new car every few years

send his children to college

take a vacation every year

have good health care

buy a modest home and pay it off

retire with dignity and comfort

I want us to compete for that great mass of voters that want a party that will stand up for working Americans, family farmers, and people who haven't felt the benefits of the economic upturn."---Paul Wellstone

14. My grandfather retired in 1967,
8th grade education. Worked on the line for Ford, and in addition to his salary, he received shares of Ford stock. When he retired he was worth 1/4 million dollars.

My other grandfather worked on the line for Crysler. Never spent a day in college. Owned a nice home (including an entertainment room and bar in the basement), plus a cottage home near a lake, and brand-new "his and her" cars (very unusual in those days).

Neither of my grandmothers worked full-time. Ever.
