Octuplets' mum 'already has six'

A Californian woman who gave birth to octuplets earlier this week already has six children, US media have reported.

The eight babies were delivered nine weeks early by Caesarean section in a hospital near Los Angeles on Monday.

The mother has not been named, but US media are quoting family members as saying she already has six other children, including twins.

Doctors say the eight babies are making good progress and are expected to stay in hospital for several more weeks.

Although the babies' mother asked doctors to keep her details confidential, a family acquaintance gave clues to her identity to the American CBS channel.

Shortly afterwards, media camped outside a house in Whittier, near Los Angeles.

Remember, for much of this country's history on the frontier, huge families sharing a one room cabin was the norm. Lack of space isn't the sole determinant of good or bad parenting.

There will be three adults caring for the kids, after all. That might even be enough.

14. This is totally different from the Duggars. The Duggars aren't

using artificial means, one. Two, they take care of their kids and raise them well. Three, there are two parents. This is a single Mom who ALREADY has six kids and she uses this to get eight more? Plus as her father said they had to declare bankruptcy last year. God spare me. The differences are legion.

17. WORSE. The litter resulted from the highly unethical deliberate

implantation of at least 8 embryos when the medical guidelines for a woman of her age are a maximum of two at one time.

Now we just need to follow the money to get to the bottom of this - because I smell a moneymaking scheme that will leave these children's lives in tatters before it's over.
