Odd how Cheney always forgets to remember.
Cheney`s recent interview with Politico was filled with the usual he-man stuff, the crap that easily rolls off the lips of a privileged guy with five wartime deferments. Cheney acts like Americans should offer up collective genuflections whenever he speaks. Here`s the part I don`t get....the events of September 11th happened on Cheney`s and Bush`s watch. In spite of Cheney`s recent chest beating, historians began taking notes on him long before September 12th.

Cheney is used to one-sided ways. Just ask the quails bred for his shooting enjoyment. Just take another look at the dead Abu Gahrib guy rolled up in see-through plastic. Think about Ali Ismail Abbas, the 12 year old Iraqi boy who lost his parents, a sibling and both arms from a bomb. Amazing what was done in our name, a stain we will endure for decades or longer.

Dick Cheney`s head is really screwed up if he thinks my grandchildren are going to open up history books years from now and read about his heroism and how he kept us free. He did no such thing. In fact, his penchant for cruelty helped make us less safe and his disdain for the Constitution made us less free.

The Bush administration chose to ignore dire warnings spelled out in a PDB, just like they chose to ignore warnings from the National Weather Service prior to Hurricane Katrina, just like they chose to ignore the wounded soldiers at Walter Reed. They ignored caskets coming home like they ignored unemployment numbers going up. In short, STFU, Dick. Consider yourself lucky you`re not featured on a wanted poster in my post office.
