Rove is calling the stimulus bill the biggest peacetime spending increase in history
The link:

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123440382396475547.html

The money quote:

Mr. Obama will get his bill. But it won't be one focused on job creation and stimulus. The bill he signs will create a raft of new programs and be the biggest peacetime spending increase in American history, which will give us larger deficits and create pressure to raise taxes. It will also hinder the president's other goals, such as expanding government health care.

Emphasis added. Apparently, Karl has forgotten all about those little matters in Iraq and Afghanistan. Never really happened, I guess. All that death, destruction and chaos? Nope, we're in peacetime. Or, as the newly hip-hop Republican Party might put it, "We be peacin', yo!"

1. So Rove, if it is peacetime, that means the war on terra is over. Therefore,
we can pull everyone out of Iraq and Afghanistan. Thus we can take the money spent in Iraq and Afghanistan and spend it on America.

5. Just don't be surprised
When the new talking point is about the "peacetime spending increase." Be ready with your reply. I'm thinking of going with sniggering derision.

7. They are dying banshees, screaming loudest as they fade into the void of insignificance.
Rove's nonsense is easily debunked. If this is peacetime, then all of Bush's spending was during peacetime, and Obama's "spending increase" isn't the biggest, and if this isn't peacetime, then Obama's spending increase isn't the biggest.

He and Limbaugh and the rest of their ignorant ilk are just screeching out their last second pleas for attention, like Al Capone being led from the courtroom, still trying to deny the reality of the verdict against him by denying the validity of those who convicted him. Like Capone, they are finished--the next group of Republicans to take control will reject those losers even more vehemently than we do.
