Happy St. David's Day!
Or, more properly, Dydd Gwyl Dewi!
We of Welsh blood do not have the same PR machine as our cousins, the Irish, so let me proclaim that today celebrates St. David - Patron Saint of Wales.

"To be born Welsh is to be born privileged. Not with a silver spoon in your mouth, but with music in your heart, and poetry in your soul." - Brian Harris

1. A question. Why are the Welsh so averse to vowels?

7. Have you seen some of the town names, in Wales?
If they had to accommodate too many vowels, the national borders would have to be increased, to accommodate the signs.
Example:
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. That's a real town name. It translates to:
'St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near a rapid whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio of the red cave'.
They changed the name, to make the town a tourist attraction, but even the original name,Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, was a tongue twister.

8. I thought her lineage was still in dispute. Man, I'd always been told she was part Welsh.
Go figure!
