They say that the state of the global economy is a greater threat
to Amurkan security than Al Qaeda.... now let's do the math.

From cost of war dot com.

www.costofwar.com

Currently, federal spending on these three strategies is heavily weighted toward military operations. In fiscal year 2005, as shown in the graph, almost nine dollars was spent on the military for every dollar spent on all other non-military security tools combined.

In order to better understand how our tax dollars are spent within and beyond our borders, this section of our website offers a wealth of information about spending on the three strategies outlined above as well as related topics.

You can click on a map to find out where our dollars go around the world, view graphs to see spending comparisons between the U.S. and other countries, or find out how much homeland security spending goes to your state. You can also read short briefs in the making connections section to learn more about national security terms and their definitions, or read more about an alternative national security proposal that would create better and more cost-effective security.

1. IMO there are two major problems, see below.
No one has a clue for an effective military strategy to fight local unconventional conflicts that often have loose ties between paramilitary forces in many countries.

No one has a clue on how to solve the economic woes of a global economy and those in power rely primarily on leaders from the financial community and ignore advice from engineers and scientists re essential manufacturing elements that IMO must provide the foundation for any recovery.

3. Makes sense to me. Problem is voters ignore the inexorable move to one world economy with a few

families from Europe, Asia, and the Americas working to establish a worldwide feudal system controlled by them.

The New World Order has been bought in to by every major political leader in the U.S. from both parties.

How long will it take for the msm to speculate about Obama's involvement with the Bilderberg Club?

4. A good read on the subject is 'Jihad vs. McWorld'
If you haven't read it already...

Jihad vs. McWorld is the title of a 1992 article that was later adapted into a book by political scientist Benjamin R. Barber, in which he puts forth a theory that describes the struggle between "McWorld" (globalization and the corporate control of the political process) and "Jihad" (tradition and traditional values, often in the form of extreme nationalism or religious orthodoxy and theocracy).

The book was based on a March 1992 article first published in the Atlantic Monthly.<1>

The book employs the basic critique of neoliberalism seen in Barber's earlier, seminal work Strong Democracy. As economic liberalism — not to be confused with political liberalism as it is defined in the United States — is the force behind globalization, this critique is relevant on a much larger scale. Unregulated market forces encounter parochial (tribal) forces. These tribal forces come in many varieties: religious, cultural, ethnic, regional, local, etc. As globalization imposes a culture of its own on a population, the tribal forces feel threatened and react. More than just economic, the crises that arise from these confrontations often take on a sacred quality to the tribal elements; thus Barber's use of the term "Jihad" (although in the 2nd edition, he expresses regret at having used this term).

Barber's prognosis in his 1995 book, Jihad vs McWorld: How Globalism and Tribalism Are Reshaping the World, is generally negative — he concludes that neither global corporations nor traditional cultures are supportive of democracy. He further posits that "McWorld" could ultimately win the "struggle." He also proposes a model for small, local democratic institutions and civic engagement as the hope for an alternative to these two forces... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jihad_vs._McWorld

5. Thanks for reminding me, I read the book when it came out. Key is "Unregulated market forces
encounter parochial (tribal) forces" as you say.

6. Whoever knocked down the twin towers, the symbol of American Financial domination

.

WON

because now the Western AND Global economy is right fucked up . .

Whether it is the PNACers just raping the taxpayers,

Or the financial wizards taking in their million dollar bonuses, . .

The USA has become financially strapped, and politically weakened across the globe

President Barack Obama MAY be able to recoup some stability somewhat,

but it will take DECADES to undo what the PNACers have done for the last half century

So yeah - there IS more threat, not just to the USA - but globally

poor people tend to get testy after a while . .

something to ponder indeed . . .
