11. Bet it's already changed............
Just looked out the window.

The snow has begun. Deceptively light, but my experience is that the biggest storms always start like this, almost hesitantly.

I am happy.

9. Wait an hour or so, Tangerine. It's snowing like hell in Richmond.
We've got 2-3 inches already after only 2 hours, and it's still coming down. Snow day tomorrow!! I can catch up on my sewing!

and clear the snow? Isn't that socialism?

18. No, it's all right, because
here in Virginia, the rich people get their streets cleared first.

And then they all go skiing!!!

6. We need it desperately here in the southwest
We haven't had any measurable precipitation since December.

That is going to mean this year's fire season will be a very bad one.

16. In Phoenix area we had a very rainy Dec and Jan and now
they say *we're* going to have a bad fire season because of all the new growth! When it gets hot hot, as it does here, the new growth will dry up and become tinder. We can't win! (I used to live just N of Albuquerque)

7. It's been snowing all day here in Western NC.
It has just dipped below freezing, so the roads are starting to get white. The trees and lawns have been white all day. They are saying we could get 4 inches by tomorrow morning. Time to play and take pictures, and stay off the roads.

10. I lived in Atlanta for a decade. During that time we had a couple of major snowfalls. And
there was precisely ONE snowplow for all of Fulton County!

14. We had close to 4 inches in East Alabama.
There was some thunder snow this morning. Weird having thunder and lightening with snow falling. A similar storm with thunder snow came through here in March 1993. That one had twice as much snow as this one.

21. That's the last time we had snow, thunder, and lightening - thunder snow.
We've had a few other snowfalls, but nothing like 8 inches and thunder snow. It's usually 65-70 degrees here in March.

26. I was in Alabama for that snowfall! (NE, near Ft Payne). Electricity
was out for 4 days, everything at a standstill, because the snow was 18" deep and drifts were deeper. On the 3rd day, the National Guard came through, asking if everybody was OK. I was--had a gas heater, and plenty of canned food. Plus nice neighbors with one of those wood stoves that you could heat food on. It sure was pretty, and fun, too. I remember the thunder and lightning that day--the only time that has ever happened to me.

22. You might get them late tonight according to Weather Underground.

Tonight

Widespread snow or sleet early this evening...then snow late this evening and overnight. Total snow accumulation of 4 to 6 inches. Blustery with lows in the mid 20s. North winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.
