It works on several levels.

It is a play on "The Great Gatsby"

It describes him perfectly.

It derisively says what he is - a gasbag.

All that is reason enough to laugh a little and use this moniker.









But it **could** also be taken to imply his prodigious girth, for those of you for whom such things matter. But even without this, it works. So maybe those who wish to remark on his size - as if that matters - maybe this will be helpful to you and not so inflammatory to those for whom size is hurtful.
