"Beer-Can Bust: Police in Tampa, Fla., arrested these two men for allegedly hurling a can of Bud Light at an unmarked police car. Authorities say Andrew Rickert, right, swerved his vehicle toward an officer's car, while Charles Thomas, left, flung the can out the window. Both were charged with throwing a deadly missile at an occupied vehicle."

9. Yep, we used to get my cat stoned.
When it was little, we'd just blow smoke in its direction. When it got bigger, it would come running at the sound of a Zippo being flicked. I've been told since that the behavior isn't uncommon...some cats like being stoned just like some humans do.

Never thought to stuff it inside a bong though.

When I was little my parents used to go camping with a group of friends who used to get their kicks letting their toddler children sip the beer and then provide entertainment by stumbling and mumbling around the campfire. My mother was always the wet blanket of the party (from their point of view) and never let me participate.

Does that just apply to you own drug of choice or can any drug user force others using their own preferred chemical?

Does it only apply to cats? How about all animals. Hell, why not include infants? They are tiny, could fit into little water filled boxes and probably could use a good FORCED mellowing. No? I mean YOU like it so of course they will to...

64. When i was 17 my mother had a bad trip off of acid that someone "slipped" her.
I spent the entire evening reassuring her that spiders were not climbing out of my eyes, leaving behind bloody trails. She screamed when she thought the bed was flipping upside down to drop us into an abyss. I had to lay towels down on the kitchen tile to form a "bridge" so she would cross the razor blades (tile squares) to go to into the bathroom.

It is not a LOL for everyone.

69. It's all in how you tell it
A good friend, while trying to get his alcoholism under control, fell asleep in a friend's basement and woke, delirious and shaking, in the pre-dawn darkness. He was sure that he saw Death standing in front of him, and he could hear the Reaper's measured, rasping breaths. This went on for quite some time, while my friend was crying and too horrified to move.

Then the sun rose, and he realized that Death was a cardboard standup of Joe Paterno, and the breathing was the sound of the nearby aquarium filter.

I'm sorry about your mom--that's an experience that no kid should have to have. But, really, we could find unhappy precedents for just about every human experience; should we therefore declare all subjects off-limits to laughter?

Edited on Tue Mar-03-09 03:33 PM by FedUpWithIt All
that i find without humor.

If someone enjoys a hallucinogenic and they CHOOSE to have one i have no issue. I have serious problems with non-consensual exposure to a variety of things. Things such as drugs and sex should be experienced ONLY with the consent of the person involved. In the instances of drug exposure, it can be physically dangerous (even life threatening) to expose someone unwittingly to a chemical substance.

I get that in the case above the poster was a willing participant. I wonder what the odds are of a person happy about exposure to acid without their knowledge or consent.

37. I have seen a cat eat pot plants. And you can too.
There is a DVD out called 100% Home Grown starring Billy Bob Thornton.
On the DVD in the "extras" section there is an interview with some really old guy extolling the virtues of pot.In the background on his desk there is a small potted pot plant.During his spiel his cat is sitting on his desk EATING the pot plant. Then when the old guy fires up a joint the cat gets in his face wanting a hit.
Next time you are in a video store look it up.

Cats like pot.
Definitely sounds WTF but its true.

40. That doesn't surprise me at all.
There's a big range of herbs that cats love. Catnip, valerian, plain ol' grass (I mean the basic lawn kind).

I don't think they should be FORCED to partake, however, which is what this guy did. That's very different from having a cat that voluntarily comes up to the circle and basically says, "Dude, don't bogue, where's my hit?" (as I've seen many do).

But I get your point. I wouldn't do that to my dog. I think it would be cruel to get an animal high as I was the last time my cop friend confiscated some killer weed and smoked it with me - I wouldn't want my dog hearing voices.

Edited on Tue Mar-03-09 01:30 PM by FedUpWithIt All
Apples and oranges. Catnip is not mind altering.

You introduced an animal to a mind altering substance without it's permission. Under what limitations do you find this type of behavior acceptable? The assholes who do blow smoke into a toddlers face? Acceptable? Are YOU the one to define when it is acceptable or not to force a mind altering substance on a being who is not able to ask you to stop if it is uncomfortable, frightening...?

I find it distasteful that anyone would do this to a helpless person/animal.

75. I have four children 16, 11, 10 and 1. I also have 2 cats.
I know the difference.

Catnip IS NOT mind altering. It has NO affect on the majority of cats under 6 months.

I am fairly positive that you know the difference between a pheromone and mild hallucinogenic with psychoactive properties such as marijuana. I suspect that you choose not to acknowledge it because it would mean that your argument comparing the two is mute and invalid.

Good day to you.

72. Nepetalactone
When cats smell catnip they exhibit a range of behaviors that may include sniffing, licking and chewing the plant, head shaking, chin and cheek rubbing, head rolling, and body rubbing. This psychosexual reaction lasts for 5-15 minutes and cannot be evoked again for an hour or more after exposure.

Sounds like kitty Ecstasy to me.

77. Hmmm, sounds like an exposure to a pheromone to me.
Edited on Tue Mar-03-09 03:13 PM by FedUpWithIt All
A human can have a similar pheromone reaction to another human.

Catnip is not potentially life threatening, nor is it possible for it to be permanently disabling. It does not cause confusion, jaw clenching, rapid eye movement, dehydration, hyperthermia or heart/kidney failure...EVER.

Ecstasy has the potential for all of the above.

Not exactly the same thing.

73. Stoners will defend any other stoner's behavior with all sorts of bullshit theories....
....they concoct because they are high all the time. Seriously, it strikes to a complex they have. But it's the "fault" of the "man" for giving them that complex.

They'll probably file a class action suit someday, if they could actually stop eating Cinnamon Toast Crunch out of the box and playing Sega Genesis all day.

51. God, what an idiot.
A cat does nothing to filter the smoke. He should have used the fish tank.

68. I think there are many potheads who do stupid shit to animals.
I know a guy who supposably gave his dog LSD. The dog then jumped out of the window and killed itsself. Could have been a made-up bullshit story though.

74. We were smoking dope one day years ago
Edited on Tue Mar-03-09 02:56 PM by Politicalboi
And we had 3 kittens. My friend had been doing her nails and there were cotton balls on the floor. One of the kitties went to sniff it and when cats sniff they put out their tongue. Well the cotton ball stuck to his tongue and I said "Look the cat has cotton mouth". We would blow smoke at them, but never hurt them and put them in a bong.
