So, when KKKarl has been going around saying that the President claims he attributes FALSE POLICY positions to enemies who have NOT advocated them... Like saying that "somebody" advocates "DOING NOTHING"...

Yes, this Dave RAMSEY dude HAS advocated "doing nothing." He preaches that whoever fucked up should GO BUST. (Not be bailed out.)

So, this dude DID go bankrupt and now preaches against doing that, AND committed various financial sins and now preaches against them....

1. Ramsey is a genius according to some--But the only piece of advice...
I have ever heard come out of his mouth is "cut up your credit cards". If thats all that it takes to be a financial guru--where do I apply

3. The printing Co. My ex-wife worked for had HELL collecting for work they did for him
He's Nashville based and has been around forever.

He's a hard core fundy and free market goon who devotes whole shows to morally based rants.

AAR Madison WXXM-FM The mic put him on a couple of months back. Lasted about two weeks.

They were flooded with complaints

The oRepuke owership of stations lap up what he's selling and wants to cram it down the throats of listeners now that the economic troubles are being blamed on "people who overbought homes" instead of the crooks who really caused it.

Ramsey can suck my ass!-`

8. I'll second that emotion, Wiley50.
The dude's a scammer....going bankrupt twice, yet finally earning the big dough by "showing" others how to earn money? ie selling them his plan. I have a lot more respect for Mary Hunt, who got herself out of debt without going bankrupt: http://www.debtproofliving.com/

4. I got a copy of his book (for free) and started to read it
If you are remotely financially responsible it is a waste of time to read it. Things like "pay your bills every month."

6. his financial plan actually works
and has helped me get my own personal finances under control.

I am subscirbed to his podcast because it's motivating, but I scroll through all his right-wing talking points. I'm tempted to unsubscribe though.

7. I teach his stuff at my church to folks from our community...8 couples $400K in debt
And the group will have most of it paid off by the end of the year. These were folks who were one step away from the edge of bankruptcy.

Dave Ramsey teaches to always pay the debts you've accumulated and to alway give to charity (churches or otherwise).
He has a lot of good stuff in his program. His program teaches 0 balance budgeting (naming every penny that you have in a month before it starts); how to hand credit card collectors; how to buy insurance and how to safely invest based on your age range.

He's been through this once before and he and his wife created a plan to get them out of debt and to pay back all of his debtors. His HATES credit card companies and his website will not accept a credit card as a form of payment.

The program works, I've taught three rounds of it now and seen two dozen couples go from 30-40K in debt to debt-free and now giving to charities and helping others like you would not believe.

10. not that similar
they're both for paying down debt, etc. But what Dave Ramsey lacks is the ability to see shades of gray (he sees things in very black and white terms). He makes fun of people who care about their FICO scores all the time, but for some, that could mean employment or not.

And I don't think that Dave would approve of Suze Orman's life (because she's gay)
